The rigid handle and the flexible operative end are joined to each other such that the flexible operative end is configured to be in an arced position when at rest and unopposed, and to resiliently flex to a substantially straight position when opposed. The rigid handle and the flexible operative end may be joined to each other between a pivot point and a proximal end of the device. The device may form hybrid scissors or hybrid forceps.
