In one example, a golf club head includes a body portion, a crown portion having a composite material, a first groove on a bottom portion extending in a heel-to-toe direction, a second groove on the bottom portion extending in a heel-to-toe direction, a first set of ports on the bottom portion between the first groove and the second groove, a second set of ports on the bottom portion between the second groove and a rear portion, and a filler material in the body portion between the first groove and the rear portion. In one example, a golf club head includes a metal body portion including a front portion having a peripheral face portion surrounding an opening. A face plate is set in the opening and includes a metal bezel welded to the opening and a strike assembly set in the bezel. The strike assembly includes an outer metal sheet welded to the metal bezel, an inner metal sheet welded to the metal bezel, and an intermediate composite sheet disposed between the outer metal sheet and the inner metal sheet. The intermediate composite sheet includes a fiber reinforced thermoplastic having a plurality of discontinuous fibers transversely aligned. The weight port may have a threaded section and an unthreaded section. A first weight portion may be coupled to the unthreaded section by an epoxy or other adhesive. A second weight portion may be threadingly fastened to the threaded section.
