Abstract: A two stage oil filter press having a housing with a precompression chamber and a main compression chamber together with a vertically reciprocating precompression ram and a horizontally reciprocating main compression ram powered by individual fluid cylinders. A feed chute with a scoop is raised through a void in the hopper created by a baffle which insures feeding a measured quantity of spent oil filters to the precompression chamber through a feed window. A main compression chamber is defined at the lower end of the precompression chamber by the lower horizontal end surface of the precompression ram, the floor, a pair of side walls of the precompression chamber, the thrust end of the main compression ram and a discharge door.
