  • Patent number: 11300259
Abstract: A downlight module with an extendable lens may have a heat sink module, a top (inner) cylinder, a bottom (outer) telescopic cylinder, a telescopic holder, a fixed lens, and the extendable lens. The top (inner) cylinder may be attached to a bottom-portion of the heat sink module. The bottom (outer) telescopic cylinder may be operatively linked to the top (inner) cylinder, such that the bottom (outer) telescopic cylinder is movable up or down. The fixed lens may be fixedly positioned within an internal cavity of the bottom-portion. The extendable lens may be located within the bottom (outer) telescopic cylinder that is translatable. The telescopic holder may be a sleeve that fixedly attaches to an exterior of the bottom-portion and covers all of the fixed lens and the top (inner) cylinder. • Publication number: 20220034488
Abstract: A lighting-junction-box-assembly-for-remodel (hereinafter, “assembly”) has a lighting-junction-box, leg-springs attached to the lighting-junction-box, and mounting-tabs attached to the lighting-junction-box. The leg-springs are used to (temporarily) hold (by friction) the assembly within a hole in an existing ceiling, sized to fit the assembly. While the leg-springs are (temporarily) holding the assembly within the hole in the existing ceiling, other/different holes within extension-portions of the mounting-tabs are used to secure the entire assembly to the existing ceiling, via mechanical fasteners passing through the extension-portion holes and into the existing ceiling. An existing ceiling may be retrofitted with this assembly to have a lighting-junction-box where desired/needed in that existing ceiling; and as such, this assembly is particularly useful in remodeling situations (applications); however, the assembly may also be used in new construction.

  • Patent number: 11159004
Abstract: A system for adjusting a junction box, to be recessed with respect to a ceiling, between a minimum ceiling thickness and a maximum ceiling thickness, utilizes a pair of hanger-bar-to-box-attachment-devices that are attached to both the junction box and to a pair of hanger-bars. The pair of hanger-bar-to-box-attachment-devices are attached to the junction box in an adjustable manner that is vertically slidable and lockable along a finite vertical path. And the pair of hanger-bar-to-box-attachment-devices that are also attached to the pair of hanger-bars, are adjustable in a horizontally slidable and lockable manner along a finite horizontal path, defined by a length of the pair of hanger-bars. The junction box may also have a set of height-markings on its exterior to facilitate adjusting the junction box to a desired height with respect to a given ceiling.

  • Publication number: 20210080081
Abstract: A lighting-junction-box may have sidewalls that bound a cavity. The cavity may be con-figured to receive an electronic component that is configured to emit light. The sidewalls may be divided into an upper-portion and a lower-portion. The lower-portion may be substantially cylindrical in shape. The upper-portion may be substantially octagonal in shape, except that two of the eight faces may be curved, while the remaining six faces may be flat and planar. The two curved faces may be oppositely disposed from each other. The two curved faces may have holes for receiving carriage-bolts for attaching adjusting-plates to the lighting-junction-box. Below the holes of the two curved faces on the lower-portion may be external-length-gauges to assist with mounting the lighting-junction-box. The adjusting-plates may have slots for receiving the carriage-bolts and to allow for vertical adjustment of the lighting-junction-box with respect to the adjusting-plates.

  • Publication number: 20200182420
Abstract: A lighting junction box assembly includes a lighting junction box housing having a body with a partially cylindrical sidewall, a closed end, and a circular opening opposite the closed end, and flat inset facets with knock-out holes formed on the sidewall. A pair of bracket assemblies attaches the lighting junction box housing in a vertically adjustable position onto hanger bars fixed between ceiling joists. The adjustable vertical position provides for use and mounting in ceilings of various thicknesses. The bracket assemblies provide the ability to adjust the vertical position of the lighting junction box housing during installation by a simple fastener inside the junction box which may be tightened without the use of tools. This capability is accomplished by the use of a carriage bolt which may be vertically positioned in a slot in the bracket.
