  • Publication number: 20080105635
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for unfolding and dispensing diapers. The system includes a dispenser and a folded diaper that is within the dispenser. The folded diaper includes a first longitudinal fold that is between a main portion and a first side portion and a second longitudinal fold that is between the main portion and a second side portion. The dispenser includes a first projection that unfolds the first longitudinal fold as the diaper is removed from the dispenser and a second projection that unfolds the second longitudinal fold as the diaper is removed from the dispenser. The system may make it easier for care givers to perform multiple diaper changes per day.

  • Publication number: 20080103469
Abstract: An absorbent article has an outer cover adapted to stretch upon application of a load by a first amount. A liquid and vapor permeable bodyside liner defines a bodyfacing surface of the article and is generally superposed and coextensive with the outer cover. The bodyside liner is adapted to stretch upon application of the load by a second amount. An absorbent body is located between the bodyside liner and the outer cover and is generally movable with the outer cover upon stretching of the outer cover. The first amount of stretch of the outer cover is greater than the second amount of stretch of the bodyside liner whereby a gap is formed between the bodyside liner and the absorbent body facilitating the flow of air and vapor through the bodyside liner in a loaded condition of the absorbent body. The bodyside liner is relatively more resilient when stretched than the outer cover.

  • Publication number: 20080077042
Abstract: Presented is a method for quantifying breastfeeding between a mother and a baby, the method including measuring a physiological volume indicative of stomach fullness volume for the baby; setting a signal threshold value of the physiological volume to correspond to a stomach level that is less than or equal to the stomach fullness volume; obtaining an objective measurement of the physiological volume indicative of a level of fullness of the baby's stomach; and providing an indication to the mother when the objective measurement equals or exceeds the signal threshold value. In one embodiment, for instance, a conductivity sensor may be used to determine the amount of breast milk available in a breast and/or the amount of breast milk that has left the breast during a breastfeeding event.

  • Publication number: 20060135935
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for unfolding and dispensing diapers. The system includes a dispenser and a folded diaper that is within the dispenser. The dispenser engages the diaper to unfold the diaper as the diaper is removed from the dispenser. The method includes grasping a folded diaper that is at least partially within a dispenser and removing the folded diaper from the dispenser such that the dispenser unfolds the diaper. The system and method may make it easier for care givers to perform multiple diaper changes per day.

  • Publication number: 20060069362
Abstract: An absorbent article includes a liquid permeable bodyside liner, an outer cover, and an absorbent body located between the bodyside liner and the outer cover. The absorbent body comprises at least one colorant. The colorant, when wetted with a liquid, becomes visible so as to identify the presence of the liquid. The colorant may also detect substances in the liquid. The colorant can detect small volumes of liquid and volumes of liquids deposited outside the target area.
