    Abstract: Mounting a heat sink to an electrical component by applying a thermal interface material on at least one of a surface of one of the electrical component and the heat sink, wherein the heat sink includes a heat pedestal including an interface surface with an apex having at least one curvature extending therethrough. The heat sink contacts the electrical component through the thermal interface material. The apex of the interface surface is an element of the heat sink closest to the electrical component. The interface surface that includes the apex and the at least one curvature cause the thermal interface material to flow during the contacting so that any space between the heat sink and the electrical component is filled with thermal interface material and is substantially free of voids.

    Abstract: A system and method for operating and fabricating microelectronics for use in extreme-temperature operating environments is disclosed. The microelectronics are designed for operating at conditions that may include temperatures greater than three hundred degrees Celsius. The system and method include one or more modules that each comprise a substrate, a package lid, and an integrated circuit die. A package lid that encloses the integrated circuit die and is disposed on the opposite side of the integrated circuit die from that of a substrate. A thermo-mechanical attachment layer is provided between the integrated circuit die and package lid. Additionally, one or more microfabricated metal pillars that incorporate both thermo-mechanical pathways and signal pathways are provided to connect the integrated circuit die to the substrate.

The obstruction model is generated by accessing image data of obstructions in a training field, each obstruction corresponding to a prescribed action occurring at a prescribed time, labelling the image data of the obstructions, and training the obstruction model based on the labelled image data. The control system captures image data of the field including an obstruction and inputs the image data into the obstruction model. Responsive to identifying the obstruction in the field, the control system modifies treatment instructions of the farming machine such that the farming machine performs a implements a farming objective while avoiding the obstruction in the field.

The approach receives data from a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) associated with servers in a plurality of data centers. The approach filters the data associated with a portion of the data centers having the highest power usage and thermal state conditions. The approach aggregates the filtered data into performance data groups based on association with a data center. The approach creates two-ratio statistics of the aggregated groups. The approach generates a data center score based on the two-ratio statistics. The approach selects data center sites with the lowest scores. The approach initiates a request to transfer server-based loads from the servers associated with the filtered data to the data center sites with the lowest scores.
