Abstract: A flight display system or method in accordance with this disclosure involves the presentation, on an aircraft, of a “quick preview” notice to airmen (“NOTAM”) display that includes a plurality of stacked flight route portion boxes, each of the plurality of flight route portion boxes pertaining to and being labeled as one of: a departure taxiing portion, a standard instrument departure portion, an en route portion, a standard terminal arrival route portion, an approach portion, and an arrival taxiing portion; each of the plurality of flight route portion boxes graphically displaying flight route symbology pertaining to and labeled as each airport taxiing reference point and/or each aeronautical waypoint that falls within its labeled flight route portion; and wherein at least one of the plurality of flight route portion boxes further graphically displays NOTAM symbology pertaining to at least one of the NOTAMs that are relevant to the flight route.

The system further includes a display device coupled to the processing unit and configured to render an image according to the display signals with a first area depicting a navigation display based on the navigation data and a second area depicting a list of NOTAM text messages.

Abstract: A method for providing a display to a flight crew of an aircraft includes receiving a required time of arrival (RTA) control instruction for arriving at a particular waypoint at a particular time, calculating an initial required aircraft speed at which the aircraft is required to fly in order to arrive at the particular waypoint at the particular time, and providing a flight display comprising a speed tape. The method further includes receiving an input accepting the RTA control instruction and calculating an updated required aircraft speed at which the aircraft is required to fly in order to arrive at the particular waypoint at the particular time. Still further, the method includes updating the flight display comprising displaying the updated RTA target speed on the speed tape using a second symbology that is different from the first symbology and discontinuing the display of the first symbology.

The method comprises receiving data indicating a point selected from a trajectory of a flight path; determining an estimated time of arrival minimum and an estimated time of arrival maximum based on the point; and displaying in a dialogue box associated with the trajectory of the flight path the estimated time of arrival minimum and the estimated time of arrival maximum for the point.
