    Abstract: Certain embodiments include a system and method for generating verification of access to a venue. A system includes an access device allowing access to a venue based on authentication data from a patron without presentation of a paper ticket or physical material created for the venue and a verification generation module generating a verification of access for the patron. The verification allows identification of an area and/or a feature to which the patron is allowed access. The access device and verification generation module may be integrated into a single unit. The system may also include a secondary access point for checking the verification to allow the patron access to at least one of an area and a feature of the venue. The secondary access point may check the verification without presentation of a printed material or personalized physical material created for an event at the venue.

The authentication data may include a printed ticket, a magnetic strip, a bar code, a credit card, an identification card, a smart card, a radio frequency identifier, an electronic device, biometric data, a signal, and/or other authentication data. The access device may include an access gate, a turnstile, a handheld access device, a retrofit unit, and/or other access device. In an embodiment, the access device includes a verification module generating access verification data for the person.

The method comprises associating the tickets with the authentication data of the ticket seller, receiving from ticket sellers electronic asks comprising an ask quantity and an ask price, receiving from a ticket buyer an electronic bid comprising a bid quantity and a bid price, comparing the bid to the asks, completing a transfer of the tickets when the bid price equals the ask price and the ask quantity is equal to or greater than the bid quantity, and reassociating the tickets with authentication data of the ticket buyer. Also disclosed is a system for performing the method.
