  • Patent number: 6081931
Abstract: A suspension system for a helmet comprising a crown support assembly having a center portion and a plurality of strap portions extending radially from the center portion. The suspension system further comprises a headband and a plurality of connectors, wherein at least one of the plurality of connectors comprises an anchor portion for attaching the suspension system to a helmet, a first support member extending from the anchor portion and attached to one of the plurality of strap portions, a second support member spaced from the first support member, extending from the anchor portion, and attached to the headband, and a spacing member extending from one of the first and second support members toward the other of the first and second support members. The connector may be a single piece, and may be a molded piece. The connector may also comprise at least one more spacing member extending from one of the first and second support members toward the other of the first and second support members.

  • Patent number: 6027462
Abstract: An apparatus for deflecting a catheter or lead, for example a deflectable stylet or guidewire. The device includes an outer tubular member, a tension member mounted within the outer tubular member and coupled to the outer member and a handle mounted at the proximal end of the tubular member. The handle includes a major handle portion which has a rotatable knob located at its distal end, surrounding a proximal portion of the outer tubular member and provided with inwardly directed threading and an inner slider member provided with outwardly directed threading engaging the inwardly directed threading of the knob. The slider is advanced or retracted longitudinally within the handle by rotation of the knob but is rotationally fixed with regard to the major handle portion.

  • Patent number: 6014535
Abstract: A cartridge device for packaging an endless, organic photoreceptor belt of an electrophotographic printer. The cartridge device is a closed loop support structure manufactured of a resilient material around which the endless belt extends. The resilient support structure has a belt loading configuration, that substantially duplicates the configuration of the endless belt when the belt is mounted onto support rollers of the electrophotographic printer. By replicating the configuration of the support rollers, loading of the belt onto the rollers is facilitated using the cartridge device. The resilient support structure also has a compact configuration that requires less volume than the belt loading configuration. The compact configuration of the cartridge device minimizes shipping volume and storage space requirements for replacement photoreceptor belts.

  • Patent number: 5954642
Abstract: A head mounted display includes a head suspension apparatus and a display coupled thereto. In a stationary state, the display is maintained in a desired position relative to the head suspension apparatus. Further, in a release state, the display is always freely movable both vertically and horizontally relative to the head suspension apparatus. In addition, the display may also always be freely rotatable about an axis of the display as well as vertically and horizontally. The coupling of the display to the head suspension apparatus may be attained using a slide bar and hinge mechanism that forms a rigid triangular structure when the display is in the stationary state. Further, the head suspension apparatus may include an adjustable temporal support element for positioning about the circumference of a user's head and an adjustable crown support connected to the temporal support with the crown support including channels for allowing electrical connection lines to move freely therein.
