  • Publication number: 20240103982
Abstract: The following relates generally to providing insurance for one or more virtual items in a virtual environment. In some embodiments, an insurance server receives a request for insurance for one or more virtual items from a customer. The insurance server then obtains information associated with the one or more virtual items from a virtual environment server, and determines an insurance premium based upon the received information. The following also relates generally to providing backups of virtual items. In some embodiments, a backup server creates backups of virtual items by writing data associated with the virtual item to a data store. The virtual items may be fungible or non-fungible. In some embodiments, the virtual items are periodically backed up.

  • Publication number: 20240096132
Abstract: Far field devices typically rely on audio only for enabling user interaction and involve only audio processing. Adding a vision-based modality can greatly improve the user interface of far field devices to make them more natural to the user. For instance, users can look at the device to interact with it rather than having to repeatedly utter a wakeword. Vision can also be used to assist audio processing, such as to improve the beamformer. For instance, vision can be used for direction of arrival estimation. Combining vision and audio can greatly enhance the user interface and performance of far field devices.

  • Publication number: 20240087005
Abstract: In a method for applying penalties or incentives to a driver of a rented vehicle, an indication that the driver has agreed to terms for renting the vehicle from the vehicle owner is received, with the terms including the potential application of penalties or incentives to the driver based on driving behavior. Telematics data, indicative of operation of the rented vehicle by the driver during a period of time, is received. By analyzing the telematics data, one or more driving behaviors of the driver during the time period is/are identified. For each driving behavior, a corresponding state of an environment of the rented vehicle when the driving behavior occurred is determined. One or more penalties or incentives are caused to be applied to the driver, based on the driving behavior(s) and the corresponding state(s) of the environment of the rented vehicle.

The automated analyzer includes a shuttle transfer station that receives a shuttle carrier from the automated pre-analytical system. The shuttle transfer station has a clamping assembly for the shuttle. The clamping assembly has jaws that advance engagement members into contact with a bottom portion of sample containers disposed in the shuttle. The clamping assembly secures the sample containers in the shuttle when sample is aspirated from the sample containers. The automated analyzer also has a multichannel puncture tool that is adapted to be carried by a robotic gripper mechanism. The multichannel puncture tool has multiple puncture members that each defines a channel Each channel is in communication with a different trough in the consumable. A pipette can pass through the channel in the puncture tool.

  • Patent number: 11922238
Abstract: A parametric constant resolves to different values in different contexts, but a single value within a particular context. An anchor constant is a parametric constant that allows for a degree of parametricity for an API point. The context for the anchor constant is provided by a caller to the API point. The anchor constant resolves to an anchor value that records specialization decisions for the API point within the provided context. Specialization decisions may include type restrictions, memory layout, and/or memory size. The anchor value together with an unspecialized type of the API point result in a specialized type of the API point. A class object representing the specialized type is created. The class object may be accessible to the caller, but the full value of the anchor value is not accessible to the caller. The API point is executed based on the specialization decisions embodied in the anchor value.
