  • Publication number: 20240182208
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for opening a resealable childproof bag designed to provide an effective yet child-resistant access mechanism. The bag includes first and second sidewalls, each with an upper portion, and first and second locking members attached to the inner surfaces of the respective sidewalls. The method includes locating an interruption in the first locking member, which is interlocked with the second locking member. The method further includes applying outward forces to the locking members at the interruption to initiate a rotating motion facilitated by the unattached upper portion of the first sidewall. This motion enables the disengagement of the locking members, allowing the bag to be opened. The interruption is discreetly designed to be non-obvious to children, ensuring childproof functionality, while adults can easily identify and operate the opening mechanism.

  • Patent number: 11932454
Abstract: A bag including a childproof resealable closure system. The bag includes an opening extending from a first end to a second end configured with a closure system to seal the opening. The closure system includes a first elongate closure element and a second elongate closure element, coupled to opposing sidewalls of the bag and extending from the first end to the second end. The first and second elongate closure elements may be resealably interlocked to provide the seal. The first closure element may be coupled to its sidewall along its lower portion while leaving the upper portion of the closure element substantially disconnected. The second closure element may be coupled to its sidewall along its upper and lower portions. The second closure element may include a discreet partial gap along its length to facilitate the gripping and separating of the closure system, to render the resealable bag childproof.

  • Publication number: 20220087477
Abstract: The invention involves a grinder safety cap suitable for medicinal items such as herbs or other consumable substances that may be desirably restricted from children, and which may require grinding and/or homogenizing before ingestion. The grinder safety cap is comprised of a cover shell and base shell, wherein the cover shell fits snugly over an upwardly extending top wall of the base shell. The base shell may have upwardly extending grinding protrusions, having sharp and/or serrated edges, capable of grinding, cutting, or otherwise reducing the particle size of a consumable substance. The cover shell may also have downwardly extending grinding protrusions. A consumable substance may be placed within a cavity or receptacle of the base shell, the cover shell may be placed over the top wall of the base shell so as to close the grinder safety cap, and the consumable substance may be ground by turning the cover shell.

  • Publication number: 20190367225
Abstract: The invention involves a childproof jar that suitable for medicinal items such as tablets, medication or other consumables that may be desirably restricted from children. The childproof mechanism that restricts access to the contents of the jar may employ a childproof cap comprising an outer cap and an inner cap that is operable by applying a force along the rotational axis of the cap—or by pressing down on the cap and twisting or rotating the cap. Typically, the jar is treated or coated with a uv-treatment or coating that limits or prevents light from reaching the contents of the jar.

  • Patent number: 9938042
Abstract: The invention involves a childproof box that suitable for medicinal items such as tablets, medication or other consumables that may be desirably restricted from children. The childproof mechanism that restricts access to the contents of the box may employ a base shell that slides in and out of a cover shell, which respectively conceals and exposes a storage cavity. Both shells have corresponding tracks and corresponding protrusions configured to engage with each other in a manner so that the base shell may only be accessed (or slid open) when a user presses and pushes on a top surface of the cover shell. The structural elements of each of the shells are such that a user may operate the childproof box with a single hand. In exemplary embodiments, the childproof box comprises of flat surfaces that form a generally rectangular box, which is easy to carry, manipulate and store.
