  • Publication number: 20140205214
Abstract: A storage bag includes a first side surface and a second side surface connected to the first side surface so as to form an interior of the bag with an opening to the interior. First and second closure profiles are connected to respective first and second side surfaces and positioned adjacent to the opening of the bag. Each closure profile includes a respective interlocking member that extends along the length of the respective closure profile and includes a plurality of dimples provided adjacent to the interlocking member. The plurality of dimples provided on the first closure profile are offset from the plurality of dimples provided on the second closure profile.

  • Publication number: 20140153846
Abstract: A storage bag has first and second closure profiles adjacent to an opening to the interior of the bag. The first and second closure profiles have dimples that are aligned opposite to each other. By way of example, the dimples of the first closure profile are formed as a concave surface on the side of the first closure profile facing the interior of the bag and a convex surface on the side of the first closure profile facing the outside of the bag. Engaging of the dimples of the first closure profile with the dimples of the second closure profile provides at least one of a visual indication and a tactile sensation, when the interlocking member of the first closure profile is blocked with that of the second.

Abstract: A storage bag is provided with lips that are shaped to facilitate unsealing of the bag. The lips include a visual cue that indicates to a user where the lips should be grasp during the unsealing operation. The visual cue may include any of a notch, a specific formation of the lips, and a color of the lips. When grasping the lips in the area of the lips indicated by the visual cue, the user can perform a rolling motion that greatly facilitates opening of the bag.

  • Patent number: 8662334
Abstract: A vacuum storage container having a container body, a check valve and a lid with an outer rim surrounding a diaphragm. A vacuum pump is engagable with the check valve to remove air from the interior of the container to create a vacuum in the container. The diaphragm is pushed inward by atmospheric forces upon removal of the air until the diaphragm touches and conforms to at least upper exposed surfaces of the contents of the container. The storage container aids in preventing degradation of the contents of the container by maintaining the contents free from the degrading effects of air and by substantially immobilizing the contents during movement of the container to protect the contents from breakage and bruising.

  • Publication number: 20130343676
Abstract: A storage bag has first and second side surfaces, and a sealable and an unsealable opening. A bottom end of the bag is movable between a flat configuration with the first and second side surfaces positioned adjacent to each other, and an expanded configuration with the first and second side surfaces being spaced from each other. Shape retaining strips are provided adjacent to the opening that can maintain the shape of the opening. The shape retaining strips are capable of maintaining the opening of the bag such that a distance between the first and second side surfaces at the top end of the bag is about equal to the distance between the first and second side surfaces at the bottom end of the bag.

  • Patent number: 8231273
Abstract: A pouch includes first and second pouch walls that define an interior of the pouch, and an opening to the interior of the pouch is provided in at least one of the first and second pouch walls. A flow channel profile is disposed on an inner surface of the first pouch wall, and a complementary groove is disposed on an inner surface of the second pouch wall. The complementary groove releasably engages the flow channel profile so as to define a flow channel between the first and second pouch walls. The flow channel profile extends between the opening and a portion of an interior of the pouch that is spaced from the opening. When the flow channel profile is releasably engaged with the complementary groove, a tip of the flow channel profile contacts a surface the complementary groove, and a surface of the flow channel profile that is adjacent to the tip also contacts a surface of the complementary groove.

  • Patent number: 8196269
Abstract: A closure mechanism for a reclosable pouch includes a female profile having first, second, and third legs extending from a base of a first closure element. A first sealing flange is attached to each of the first and second legs, with a slit disposed through the first sealing flange to define a first sealing flap that depends from the first leg and a second sealing flap that depends from the second leg. A second sealing flange is attached to each of the second and third legs, with a slit disposed through the second sealing flange to define a third sealing flap that depends from the second leg and a fourth sealing flap that depends from the third leg. A first male profile extends from a base of a second closure element. The first male profile engages a portion of the first and second sealing flaps to form a seal therebetween when the respective male and female profiles are occluded. A second male profile extends from the base of the second closure element.

  • Patent number: 8176604
Abstract: A pouch has an airtight elongate closure mechanism adapted to provide a vacuum retention with an interior of the pouch over an extended period of time when sealed. The closure mechanism includes a first pair of interlocking members that resealably mate together, a second pair of interlocking members that resealably mate together, and sealing members that form an air tight seal disposed between the first and second pairs of interlocking members. The closure elements may be connected with opposing sidewalls of the pouch in a manner designed to provide differential opening and closing forces. The pouch may also include a check valve and air evacuation channels to aid in evacuating air from the interior.
