Patent number: 9225074Abstract: An active antenna system for receiving electromagnetic radiation at frequencies below 100 MHz. The system includes a vertical support mast; a front end electronics unit including an active balun, the front end electronics unit affixed to the support mast; two crossed-dipole antennas affixed oriented at about 90 degrees to each other, each crossed-dipole antenna having two arms formed of electrically conductive material, each arm having an isoceles triangular frame with an apex of the frame electrically connected to a feedpoint of the front end electronics unit, each arm also having a longitudinal member extending from the apex to the center of the base of the triangular shape and a cross member extending between sides of the triangular frame. The system can operate independently or as part of a long wavelength array for astronomical radio telescope applications.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2013Date of Patent: December 29, 2015Assignee: The United States of America, as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Brian C. Hicks, Kenneth P. Stewart, Tracy Clarke, Nagini P. Dalal, Henrique Schmitt, Paul S. Ray, Stephen J. Burns, Namir E. Kassim, Emil J. Polisensky, Norman R. Mcglothlin, Jr.

Patent number: 9047387Abstract: A system and method are provided for segregating access to dynamic content on multiple websites hosted by a web server. When a request is received for dynamic content from a website, a UserRetriever module identifies a path to the content and retrieves a username and password corresponding to the website, from a database that is separate from the web server and used for other purposes (e.g., billing). A UserImpersonator module requests a logon handle for that username from a logon cache manager. The logon handle is used to associate the request with the impersonated user account instead of the default anonymous user account with which the request was initially associated. The dynamic content is retrieved and served under the context of the restricted impersonated user account session, after which the applied logon handle is stripped off and the request is re-associated with the default anonymous user account.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2011Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: INTUIT INC.Inventor: Brian C. Patent number: 8081318Abstract: A non-periodic reflection beamsplitter or reflector for use in an interferometer. The interferometer employs non-periodic reflectors or a non-periodic beamsplitter in order to produce interference patterns to analyze. The non-periodic reflectors or beamsplitters may be concentrically arranged reflectors having equal area. The beamsplitter consists of two adjacent non-periodic structures having complementary reflection and transmission patterns.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2009Date of Patent: December 20, 2011Assignees: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Navy, New Jersey Institute of TechnologyInventors: Oren Sternberg, Kenneth P Stewart, Brian C Hicks, Haim Grebel, Karl Dieter Moeller
