  • Patent number: 9069355
Abstract: Systems and methods for transmitting measurement data wirelessly are described herein. A coordinate measurement device comprises an articulated arm comprising a plurality of articulated arm members, a coordinate acquisition member at a distal end, and a base at a proximal end. The device further comprises an add-on device assembly coupled to the coordinate acquisition member. The device further comprises a feature pack coupled to the base of the articulated arm. The feature pack may receive the coordinate data and the add-on device data packet, inserts bits of the coordinate data into a packet that can be transmitted over a network, and wirelessly transmits the packetized coordinate data and the add-on device data packet to a base station.

  • Publication number: 20120191409
Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods for an improved probe for a coordinate measurement machine (PCMM) is disclosed herein. The probe comprises a machine readable unique serial number, which the PCMM can read from the probe to identify the probe and obtain information relating to calibration of the probe by matching the unique serial number with unique serial number stored with the information relating calibration. The coordinate information device further comprises modules configured to store and provide the machine readable unique serial number, and also information relating to calibrating the probe.

  • Patent number: 7266761
Abstract: Inserting images into documents. An image source device is made active with an application used to create text in a document. An application programming interface (API) module is accessed from within the application. The API interfaces the application with a TWAIN module used for acquiring an image with the image source device. The API module is separate from the TWAIN module and isolates users from directly interacting with the TWAIN module. The application uses the API module for negotiating with the image source device to determine a set of image capture parameters that control the image source device when acquiring the image. Data representing the image is communicated from the image source device into the memory of a computer hosting the application used to create text so that the data representing the image is a portion of a document stored in the memory.

  • Publication number: 20030177448
Abstract: A system and associated method for acquiring images from various imaging devices and inserting these acquired images into application program documents. The system includes an interface module, a source manager module, and a source module, the latter two supporting the TWAIN communication specification. The interface module allows word processing applications, spreadsheet applications, presentation design applications, and other types of applications to be provided the capability for easily inserting images into documents that are created by such applications. An application program interface (API) is provided with an program application that enables the application program to acquire images from any TWAIN compliant image acquisition device. The method defines a process for automatically capturing and inserting an image with minimal user input, and enables a user to customize image capture parameters when acquiring an image, if desired.
