Abstract: Systems and methods for treating a subject with a psychiatric disorder are provided in which a therapy session is conducted. In the therapy session, each respective expression image in a plurality of expression images is sequentially displayed. Each expression image is independently associated with an expression. The successive display of images is construed as a tiled series of expression image subsets, each consisting of N expression images. Upon completion of the display of each respective subset, the user is challenged as to whether the first and the last images in the respective subset exhibit the same emotion. A score is determined for the respective subset based on whether the subject learned to respond correctly. The number of images in each subset is adjusted to a new number based on these scores. A treatment regimen is prescribed to the subject for the psychiatric disorder based at least in part on the scores.

Abstract: Systems and methods for treating depression via a digital therapeutic. The digital therapeutic may be configured to provide memory task exercises according to a schedule and provide psychotherapy lessons according to another schedule. The psychotherapy lessons may include animated videos configured to provide therapeutic intervention through at least one of emotion regulation, behavioral activation and cognitive restructuring. The two schedules may define a six-week treatment period. The memory task exercises may include emotional face memory task (EFMT) exercises and the psychotherapy lessons may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) lessons.

Abstract: Provided for may be a system for assessing an eye contact aversion bias comprising initiating a first predetermined number of trials, wherein a trial comprises generating a displayed human face having a first spatial location corresponding to a first feature and a second spatial location corresponding to a second feature, wherein the first feature is the eyes of the displayed human face, and the second feature is not the eyes of the displayed human face, generating a target stimulus, wherein the target stimulus is presented at the first or the second spatial location, and receiving a selection signal. The system may further comprise calculating a response time, a first average response time, a second average response time, and calculating the eye contact aversion bias.
