  • Patent number: 11944278
Abstract: A cassette for collecting a tissue sample. The cassette includes a housing configured to be removably coupled with a manifold receiver of a medical fluid collection system. The housing defines a first void space, a second void space, and an outlet opening. A catch tray is removably positionable within the first void space and includes a screen defining porous features for collecting the tissue sample. A filter element separate from the catch tray is disposed within the second void space. The housing may include a cap portion defining the first void space, and a shell portion coupled to the cap portion and defining the second void space. The cassette may be simultaneously operable in a tissue collection mode in which fluid is suctioned across the catch tray to collect the tissue sample, and a bypass mode in which the fluid is not suctioned across the catch tray.

  • Publication number: 20220097109
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of disposing of a residual pharmaceutical composition from an IV bag. The method of disposing also includes coupling the IV bag to a pharmaceutical dispenser coupler. The disposing also includes extracting at least a portion of the residual pharmaceutical composition from the IV bag through the pharmaceutical dispenser coupler. The disposing also includes treating at least a portion of the extracted pharmaceutical composition in one of a chemical and physical manner.

  • Patent number: 8407818
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a hood for use with a personal protection system. The hood includes a shell formed from at least partially out of a filter medium. At least one transparent layer is initially attached to a transparent face shield. The transparent layer-face shield assembly is sterilized with gamma radiation and attached to the shell to form the hood. The hood is then sterilized with ethylene oxide.

  • Patent number: 7752682
Abstract: A personal protection system is mountable to a user for distributing air to the user includes a shell providing structure. A fan module is supported by the shell for generating a flow of air. Cushioning is provided between the fan module and the shell to reduce vibrations and noise. The fan module includes a fan with blades having an airfoil shape for added noise reduction. An air flow channel is in fluid communication with the fan module for routing the flow of air. A pair of nozzle tips are in fluid communication with the air flow channel and are rotatably adjustable to allow directional adjustment of the flow of air toward a neck of the user. The personal protection system also includes a face shield with multiple removable layers which are sterilized as a unit using gamma radiation.

  • Publication number: 20040260271
Abstract: A catheter for delivering medication from a fluid source to an anatomical site of a patient and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The catheter comprises an elongated tube extending between an open proximal end and a closed distal end. The elongated tube includes a catheter wall having an inner surface that bounds a lumen for conveying the fluid from the fluid source. A plurality of openings are defined in the catheter wall to discharge the fluid from the lumen to the anatomical site. A reinforcing coil is disposed within the lumen to improve fluid delivery and provide kink resistance to the catheter. The reinforcing coil has spaced convolutions in an unstretched state. An annular flow space is defined between the reinforcing coil and the inner surface of the catheter wall.
