  • Patent number: 9474211
Abstract: A rotary motion transfer apparatus, such as a combine grain elevator, which includes first and second endless flexible members which may include belts and/or chains. Each flexible member is trained around a respective set of rotary members which may be pulleys, sheaves or sprockets. One rotary member from each set shares a common shaft and may, or may not, be in driving engagement with one another. The common shaft is mounted on an adjustment frame member that is linearly displaceable with respect to a main frame to adjust the tension in the first endless flexible member. A pair of idler rotary members are provided for tensioning the second endless flexible member and are mounted on a pivot arm which is mounted to the adjustment frame member for pivoting movement around a pivot axis intermediate the pair of idler rotary members.

  • Publication number: 20160057927
Abstract: A grain unloading system for a combine harvester comprises an unloading tube having a discharge outlet and a helical auger situated in the unloading tube and operable to convey grain towards and through the discharge outlet. A dribble control door serves to inhibit the leakage of grain from the tube when the auger is in a non-operative mode. The door is pivotally connected to the tube adjacent the discharge outlet so as to be pivotally moveable between a closed position and an open position. A lever arm is fixed at one end to the dribble control door, and at the other end to a gas spring which is mounted to the tube. The gas spring is pressurised so as to provide a closing moment to bias the dribble control door into the closed position. The geometry of the lever and gas spring is such that the closing moment increases as the dribble control door moves from the open position to the closed position.

  • Patent number: 8876927
Abstract: A radiator screen arrangement (10) for a combine harvester is provided. A screen (12) through which air, which is to pass through a radiator, is drawn by a fan. Rotating means (16) are provided for rotating the screen. Blanking means (18), past which the screen is rotated, provides a blanked off area of the screen which is not subject to the induction pressure of the fan and from which particles can therefore be more easily removed. The arrangement is characterised in that the blanking means has a leading edge (18a) which is of generally spiral shape so that the particles on the outer surface of the screen which enter the blanked-off area can reach the outer periphery (12d) of the rotating screen without being exposed to the induction pressure of the fan and hence have an improved chance of being detached from the screen.

  • Patent number: 8740679
Abstract: A combine harvester unloading system is provided in which an unloading auger (20) is swingable between a stowed position and an unloading position around an upright pivot axis disposed at one end of the auger. A pivotally mounted auger support cradle (26) is moveable between a reception position to engage the underside of the auger when transitioning into the stowed position and a supporting position under the auger when in the stowed position.
