  • Patent number: 11925408
Abstract: A tool assembly for use with an electrosurgical device for cutting tissue includes a base portion, a return lead, an electrical insulator, a center pin, and an active lead. The center pin extends from the base portion and through a lumen of the electrical insulator. The active lead is securely fixed to the base portion and extends between the base portion and a distal portion of the center pin such that a portion of the active lead extends around the distal portion of the center pin and first and second segments of the active lead are spaced apart from the return lead. Upon activation, electrosurgical energy is transmitted from the active lead through tissue to the return lead to cut tissue in contact with the active lead.

  • Patent number: 6701322
Abstract: A process for generating a script for an agent system of a business to use in conducting an interactive interview with a customer. The agent system is linked to a database which includes a questions table, an answers table and a branching table. The agent system retrieves a question from the questions table and a list of alternative answer choices for the retrieved question from the answers table. The agent system communicates the first question and the list of alternative answer choices to the customer. The agent system inputs the customer's selected one of the alternative answers to the branching table of the database. The branching table includes rules for determining the next one of the a questions to communicate to the customer based on the customer's selected answer.

  • Patent number: 6299097
Abstract: The invention includes an optical waveguide whipping end cutting apparatus. The apparatus includes an active cutting element. The element is positioned to cut a segment from a whipping end of an optical fiber, while the fiber is being wound onto a rotating spool. This apparatus will prevent fiber whip. The invention also includes a method of cutting a whipping end from an optical fiber. The method includes removing a segment of the end of the fiber with an active cutting element. A method of cutting an optical fiber while winding the fiber onto a storage spool is further discussed. The fiber has a whipping end and a wound segment. The method includes separating the whipping end of the fiber from the wound segment with an active cutting element. Furthermore, the invention includes a method of reducing fiber whip damage to fiber wound on a spool. This includes engaging an active cutting element on the fiber being wound onto the spool, and removing a whipping end from the fiber.
