  • Publication number: 20240108504
Abstract: An ultrasonic needle for attachment to an ophthalmic surgical handpiece includes a cannula having a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the cannula is configured for attachment to an ophthalmic surgical handpiece. The distal end of the cannula includes a tip with at least one port in communication with a lumen extending through the cannula. A flexible member (e.g., a flexible loop, a flexible button, etc.) is coupled to the distal end of the cannula for tissue manipulation.

  • Patent number: 9895056
Abstract: An ophthalmic laser illuminator 10 includes multiple laser devices 12-16. There are at least three different wavelengths of light emitted by the multiple laser devices 12-16 and each wavelength of light emitted by each laser device is outside of wavelengths blocked by a safety filter used for surgical treatment lasers 52. A controller 18 controls the multiple laser devices 12-16. A graphical user interface 32 is operably attached to the controller 18 for allowing a user to select a plurality of light parameters for a light beam exiting the illuminator 10.

  • Publication number: 20050277913
Abstract: An ophthalmic surgical system 70 includes a surgery-viewing device 10 for observing a surgical site 72. A surgical console 74 controls at least one surgical instrument 64. The surgical console 74 detects certain surgical parameters during surgery. A heads-up display 12 is connected to each of the surgery-viewing device 10 and the surgical console 74 for displaying at least one of the surgical parameters to a user through the surgery-viewing device 10.

  • Patent number: 6358263
Abstract: A system is provided for controlling the stopping position of a surgical cutting tool relative to a tissue entrance location of a cannula housing the cutting tool. A signal processor is responsive to a motor activation signal to provide a motor activation signal to a motor control unit for driving a motor, which activates the cutting tool positioned in a cannula. The signal processor is responsive to a motor stop signal and to a stop position signal to stop the cutting tool relative to the tissue entrance location of the cannula to thereby avoid trapping a portion of the tissue base between the cutting tool and a boundary of the cannula opening.
