  • Publication number: 20240139531
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for generating pulse pacing in a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (“WCD”). In one aspect the WCD circuitry includes a power source such as a battery coupled to a charger that provides charge energy to an energy storage module. Control circuitry is operatively coupled to the charger and the output circuitry, and configured to cause the WCD circuitry to generate pacing pulses delivered to therapy electrodes (attached to an ambulatory patient) without a current source. The WCD circuitry includes one or more processing elements that are used to execute instructions provided by one or more software modules that are configured to support various functionality, including controlling generation of pacing pulses.

  • Patent number: 11944835
Abstract: In embodiments, a Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator (WCD) system includes a support structure for the patient to wear, and components that the support structure maintains on the patient's body. The components include a defibrillator, associated electrodes, and so on. The defibrillator can operate in a WCD mode while the patient wears the support structure. The defibrillator can further operate in a different, AED mode, during which time the patient need not wear a portion of the support structure, or even the entire support structure. Sometimes the AED mode is a type of a fully automatic AED mode. Other times the AED mode is a type of a semi-automated AED mode, where an attendant is present to administer the shock; at such times, the patient may not even need to have electrodes attached. This way the patient is more comfortable for a longer time.

  • Publication number: 20240099815
Abstract: Structured surfaces are described. In one embodiment, the structured surface comprises a plurality of structures having a complement cumulative slope magnitude distribution (Fcc) such that at least 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 or 90% of structures have a slope greater than 10 degrees; and less than 80% of the structures have a slope greater than 35 degrees. In other embodiments, the structures comprise peaks and valleys defined by a Cartesian coordinate system such that the peaks and valleys have a width and length in the x-y plane and a height in the z-direction and at least a portion of the peaks and/or valleys vary in height in the y direction and/or the x-direction by at least 10% of the average height. Articles and methods are also described.

  • Patent number: 5172936
Abstract: The present invention relates to a label, particularly for in-mold application, and containers and articles having such a label. The label of the present invention is one designed for attaching to a surface and is adapted to allow removal of at least one portion of the label from the surface. The label has at least one permanent portion and at least one removable portion, with the permanent portion(s) having a sufficient amount of adhesive to provide permanent adhesion to the surface while the removable portion(s) is provided with an amount of adhesive to provide relatively less adhesion so as to allow the removable portion to be removed from the surface. Preferably, such lesser amount of adhesive provides a degree of adhesion less than both the tear modulus and the proportional limit of the removable portion(s).

  • Patent number: 4637063
Abstract: A bag structure and method of making the same, wherein a liner on the inside of the bag body has a closed top within the bag body top providing a primary closure for the bag which must be opened for access to contents within the bag. A secondary closure comprises a reclosable fastener zipper carried by the bag body top above the primary closure for access to the primary closure, and then serving for selectively opening and closing the bag top opening.
