    Abstract: An apparatus and method for unloading a plurality of items from a carrier is provided. The items are preloaded in the carrier, in a column having a top row. The apparatus has a first conveyor which has a first end for approaching the top row, an opposite second end and a conveyor body connecting the first end and the second end. The first end has an end platform for receiving the top row and an arm associated with the end platform for transporting the top row onto the end platform. A second conveyor is operatively connected to the first conveyor for receiving the top row from the first conveyor and transporting the top row for further processing the top row. The apparatus also has a control unit for controlling the movement of the first conveyor and the second conveyor.
