  • Patent number: 9829191
Abstract: A light fixture is provided with a heating element. The heating element can be a resistive heating element, such as a Nichrome wire, and resides in grooves of a cover (e.g., a glass globe) of the light fixture. Thus, the heating element acts to directly heat the cover of the light fixture to prevent, decrease, or otherwise correct frosting, freezing, and other elemental effects on the cover when it is exposed to the environment. The heating element is capable of raising the temperature of the cover at least 15° C. from an initial temperature of ?20° C. in 30 minutes. A heat sensing element may provide feedback regarding the temperature of the cover for controlling power supplied to the heating element.

  • Publication number: 20170078362
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for accessing portions of a file at a client device. One or more portions of a file are selected for downloading to the client device, wherein the file is stored on a web-based storage system in communication with the client device via a network. At least one portion in the selected one or more portions is identified that is not stored on the client device. A request is transmitted, without user interaction, to the web-based storage system to download the identified at least one portion of the file, and the identified at least one portion of the file is downloaded to the client device via the network.

Abstract: In one example, an illumination assembly includes a light fixture having a housing and at least one protrusion extending outward from the housing. The illumination assembly further includes a base having a corresponding at least one keyed opening. The at least one protrusion is configured to engage the corresponding at least one keyed opening to attach the light fixture to the base. In another example, an illumination assembly includes a light fixture having a housing and at least one ring protrusion extending outward from the housing. The illumination assembly further includes a base having a groove configured to receive a housing ring. The at least one ring protrusion is configured to contact the housing ring to attach the light fixture to the base.

  • Publication number: 20160127452
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for opening local applications from browsers. A request to open a document associated with a cloud computing system is received from a user. A determination is made that the local device has a copy of the document, and a local application is selected to open the local copy. A message is transmitted to open the local copy with the selected local application.

  • Patent number: 9308545
Abstract: A system and a method for pretreating an aluminum assembly includes selecting a blank having a thin film pretreatment layer and a lubricant coating applied to a surface. The blank is formed to a desired shape and an adhesive is applied to a selected portion of the surface. A cleaner is applied to the assembly to remove the thin film pretreatment layer and the lubricant coating from the surface except at the selected portion and a zirconium oxide conversion coating is applied to the assembly before painting.

  • Publication number: 20150377474
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a support coupling which provides a frangible point for a lighting fixture, and which prevents water from accumulating at the frangible point and from penetrating an inner chamber of the lighting fixture where electronic components are disposed. In certain example embodiments, the coupling accomplishes this by providing an inner wall and an outer wall, in which the inner wall has a higher grade (i.e., is taller) than the outer wall. A space between the inner wall and the outer wall receives an extension column. Water running down the sides of the extension column is collected in the space and pours out of the coupling over the shorter outer wall before the water reaches the top of the inner wall.

  • Publication number: 20060218058
Abstract: The system of this invention manages customer orders using vendor supplied software systems interfaced on a real-time basis to touch the data in each system on a real-time basis. In effect, there is horizontal communication between the various components of the system such as inventory, purchasing, order management and receipt, logistics and inventory to have continual data flow without using a vertical software interface. As a result, customer orders are received on a real-time basis using screens that are user friendly to promptly take orders, to verify customer data and to verify the ability to meet those orders. Transmission of documents within the system is minimized thereby making it more efficient, timely and cost efficient.
