  • Publication number: 20150223005
Abstract: Described are computer-based methods and systems, including non-transitory computer program products, for audio data processing. In some examples, a 3-dimensional audio projection method includes receiving a signal including audio data and perceived location data. The perceived location data corresponds to a desired location from which sound associated with the audio data is to be perceived by a user in a 3-dimensional virtual environment. In addition, the method includes receiving a location and orientation of the user in physical space; determining a physical location in the physical space in which the user is to perceive the sound based on the perceived location data and the location and orientation of the user in physical space; and projecting the sound to the user in a 3-dimensional format based on the physical location in the physical space.

  • Publication number: 20130051560
Abstract: Described are computer-based methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, for audio data processing. In some examples, a 3-dimensional audio projection method includes receiving a first set of audio transmissions, each of the audio transmissions in the first set of audio transmissions comprises audio data and location data; determining, for each of the audio transmissions in the first set of audio transmissions, a relative location of the audio transmission based on a location of a receiver and the location data; and projecting, for each of the audio transmissions in the first set of audio transmissions, the audio data to a user in a 3-dimensional format based on the relative location of the audio transmission.

  • Patent number: 7437221
Abstract: Disclosed is an aircraft computing and display device that includes a general purpose processor, a touch screen display and a housing. The processor executes logical instructions in the form of computer software. The touch screen display forms an interactive human-machine interface by displaying video graphics and accepting user input with a pressure sensitive surface. The housing retains the processor and the touch screen and is physically configured to replace a legacy device mounted in a cockpit instrument panel of the aircraft.
