Patent number: 12106836Abstract: The present disclosure provides a biometrically controlled handheld medication dispensing device. The device includes a housing containing a cartridge carrier, designed with a specific connector to align with a medication cartridge. Notably, the device also includes a biometric authentication component that works in conjunction with an activator mechanism. When operated and upon user authentication, the activator mechanism causes the cartridge carrier to move the medication cartridge between a stored position and a dispensing position, where it can be compressed to safely and efficiently dispense medication to a user.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2024Date of Patent: October 1, 2024Assignee: ASPARGO LABORATORIES, INC.Inventors: Adam Demurjian, Ravi Sawhney, Lance Hussey, Michael Kulick, Brian Weingarth, Josh Probst, Rajvir Logani, Cary Chow, Christianna Bethel, Craig Steel, Michael Schuffert, John Vernon

Publication number: 20240207615Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for stimulating the hypoglossal nerve (HGN) and phrenic nerve (PN) to treat OSA and CSA for a subject. The system includes an implantable pulse generator (IPG) coupled to a first electrode and a second electrode, where the first electrode is configured to stimulate a HGN of the subject and the second electrode is configured to stimulate a PN of the subject. The system does not require the detection and classification of an apneic event or hypopnea event, but rather commands a first electrode to stimulate the HGN to treat OSA and commands a second electrode to deliver an inspiration stimulation signal to stimulate the PN for treating CSA by driving a respiration pace for the subject. The first electrode is commanded to deliver the stimulation signal to stimulate the HGN according to the respiration pace driven by the inspiration stimulation signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2023Publication date: June 27, 2024Inventor: Brian Vernon MECH

Patent number: 9443371Abstract: A medication dispensing cabinet, a computing device and an associated method are provided to measure the force applied to a drawer of a medication dispensing cabinet. By measuring the force applied to the drawer of a medication dispensing cabinet, certain predefined condition(s) may be detected, such as the closure of a drawer of a medication dispensing cabinet with an excessive amount of force. In this regard, a medication dispensing cabinet is provided that includes a cabinet body defining an internal cavity and a plurality of drawers disposed within the internal cavity of the cabinet body. The drawers are configured to be slidably opened and closed relative to the cabinet body. The medication dispensing cabinet also includes a force sensor carried by at least one of the cabinet body or one or more of the drawers and configured to measure force applied to a drawer of the medication dispensing cabinet.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2013Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignee: Aesynt IncorporatedInventor: Brian Vernon
