  • Publication number: 20070145079
Abstract: A barrier package for an aerosol container may have a body with a pleated plastic side wall which is strengthened as a result of formation of the side wall by re-heating, stretching and blow molding a pre-form. In fabricating a barrier package into an aerosol container, the package with attached valve cup may be positioned in the mouth of a canister so as to leave the mouth open and propellant injected into the mouth. An aerosol container may have a barrier package with a self-supporting pleated plastic body.

  • Publication number: 20060029920
Abstract: A method for knowledge assessment and encouraging learning via the administration, scoring, remediation, and reiteration of a confidence-based assessment (CBA) test. The CBA test comprises a plurality of multiple choice questions directed to categorical topics, and two-dimensional answers by which a subject indicates both their answer and level of confidence category of their answer. The answers include a plurality of full-confidence choices consisting of single-choice answers (A), (B) or (C), a plurality of partial-confidence choices consisting of sets of multiple single-choice answers (A or B), (B or C), (A or C), and an unsure answer. Scoring entails giving maximum points for correct full-confidence answers, partial points for correct partial-confidence answers, no score for not knowing, and a maximum penalty for wrong answers in any category. The answers are compiled and displayed as a knowledge profile to the subject that separates answers into quadrants of doubt, misinformation, unknown and mastery.

  • Patent number: 6143431
Abstract: Palladium-103 radiochemical of high radionuclidic purity can be produced in commercial scale quantities by irradiating enriched Palladium targets comprising a mixture of Pd isotopes with protons or deuterons in the 10-50 MeV energy range. Commercially viable batch sizes with acceptable specific activity of the product Pd-103 are achieved by adjusting the irradiation energy, irradiation time, irradiation current, current density, plated target mass, plated target shape, plated target size, target isotope enrichment levels, and incident angle of the target to the beam. The method for the production of Pd-103 comprises providing a target material enriched with Pd isotopes comprising atomic masses equal to or greater than Pd-103, applying the target material onto a target support; irradiating the target material with protons or deuterons of sufficient incident energy and time to convert at least some of the Pd isotopes within the target material to Pd-103; and purifying Pd from the non-Pd components.

  • Patent number: 5848395
Abstract: An appointment booking and scheduling system is described, for booking appointments with operatives (e.g. service engineers) visiting customer sites within a defined geographic area. The system includes a table for storing a number of routes, each of which specifies a sequence of regions to be visited by a particular operative, and jobs to be performed by the operative in each of the regions. An appointment server is provided for offering appointments at specified times, using the table to check for availability of operatives in specified regions at specified times, and for inserting new jobs in the routes to reflect booked appointments. A scheduler periodically updates the routes e.g by means of a simulated annealing process, to generate a new set of routes.
