  • Publication number: 20050204647
Abstract: A flashing strip for placement at an intersection between a wall and an adjacent roof against which a plurality of shingles are to be laid, the flashing strip comprising an elongated back panel from which a plurality of flashing tabs extend outward. The flashing tabs are disposed at an angle to the axis and in substantially parallel planes to one another. During use, the elongated back panel is disposed against and coupled to the wall at the intersection, and shingles are then placed along the flashing tabs during the roofing process. The flashing strip may also include a ledge and/or a decorative molding above the flashing tabs. The flashing strips may be placed end to end to form a continuous flashing strip that may be installed before the placement of siding or the like on the wall. The siding may be installed by positioning the siding against the ledge before or after placement of the shingles.

  • Patent number: 5205823
Abstract: A retractable syringe includes a barrel [12, 212], one end of which comprises a mounting collar [14, 214]. A needle carrier [16, 216] is releasably mounted within the collar [14, 214], and releasably supports a needle cartridge [18, 218]. A hypodermic needle [20] is mounted within the cartridge [18, 218]. A sheath [22, 222, 418, 420, 422] attaches at one end to the cartridge, and at the other end to the collar. A plunger [36, 236] is telescoped into the barrel [12, 218], and includes a relatively hard piston sealingly engaging the barrel [12, 218]. The piston includes a latch [38, 238] for engaging the carrier [16, 216] and releasing it from the collar [14, 214]. A pocket [76, 476] in the carrier has a support member [54] in its center, and a pair of helical ribs [64] for threadingly engaging a pair of tabs on the cartridge [18, 218]. The cartridge [18, 218] sealingly receives the support member [54].

  • Patent number: 4874366
Abstract: A housing is provided for insertion in an intravenous delivery system including a fluid source and a fluid conduit. The housing is adapted for receiving a beneficial agent to be mixed with fluid flowing through the fluid conduit. The beneficial agent is reconstituted within the housing, eliminating the need for manual reconstitution. The housing may comprise a separate receptacle and cartridge in which the receptacle is manufactured "in-line" in an administration set and the cartridge is adapted for receiving a beneficial agent. In one embodiment of the invention, the cartridge is a standard drug vial.

  • Patent number: 4655355
Abstract: A container (10) having a line of weakness (18) at which the container is opened includes an inner closure (20) mounted within the container cover (16) above the line of weakness (18), and an annular sidewall (22) depending below the frangible line of weakness (18). The inner closure (22) protects the line of weakness (18) from the liquid contents, thereby preventing spillage of liquid contents onto outer non-sterile surfaces upon opening of the container. The container prevents the commercially undesireable retention of moisture in the volume (40) defined by the cover (16) and the inner closure (20). The container may be integrity tested using standard testing procedures.
