  • Publication number: 20240111816
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards systems and methods for finding documents that are similar to a reference text. The inventive systems and methods examine a set of collected documents to determine the facts present in those documents by, for example, extracting triplets and expanding them. A user's input reference text is similarly examined to extract and expand triplets therein and the facts identified with respect to the reference text are used as a basis to find documents having similar facts. The present disclosure is also related to systems and methods for mining facts from documents relating to a primary source such as a piece of legislation and using the mined facts to improve the results of subsequent searches.

  • Patent number: 11580763
Abstract: In some aspects, a method includes performing optical character recognition (OCR) based on data corresponding to a document to generate text data, detecting one or more bounded regions from the data based on a predetermined boundary rule set, and matching one or more portions of the text data to the one or more bounded regions to generate matched text data. Each bounded region of the one or more bounded regions encloses a corresponding block of text. The method also includes extracting features from the matched text data to generate a plurality of feature vectors and providing the plurality of feature vectors to a trained machine-learning classifier to generate one or more labels associated with the one or more bounded regions. The method further includes outputting metadata indicating a hierarchical layout associated with the document based on the one or more labels and the matched text data.

  • Publication number: 20090179863
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for disabling a learning algorithm resident on a communications device, such as, for example, a mobile wireless communications device are disclosed. A user may be provided with the option of disabling an algorithm that learns user keystrokes in order to provide predictive completion or disambiguation of input strings when the input string may contain sensitive or secure information. Upon completion of entry of the secure or sensitive data, the learning function is reactivated. Disabling of the learning function may also occur automatically based on an application in which data is being entered.
