  • Patent number: 4786591
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for determining the binding capacity of thyroxin-binding globulin (TBG) according to the principle of heterogeneous enzyme immunoassay, wherein the serum sample to be investigated is incubated with enzyme-labelled T.sub.4 or T.sub.3 and immobilized antibody against TBG or T.sub.4, the phase are separated and the labelling enzyme is measured in one of the phases.

  • Patent number: 4569917
Abstract: Method of direct determination of beta-lipoproteins in a blood sample containing pre-beta-lipoprotein, (VLDL) alpha-lipoprotein (HDL), and beta-lipoprotein (LDL), comprising mixing the blood plasma or serum of the blood sample with a solid, water-insoluble anion exchanger operable to retain the pre-beta-lipoprotein (VLDL) and the alpha-lipoprotein (HDL) to remove them from solution, separating the blood plasma or serum from the anion exchanger and thereafter determining the amount of beta-lipoprotein (LDL) remaining in solution.

  • Patent number: 4551427
Abstract: A reagent and improved process for the determination of D-glucose in body fluids by reaction with ATP in the presence of hexokinase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, NADP, Mg.sup.++ ions and buffer and measurement of the NADPH formed. The improved process requires, before reaction with ATP, the mixing of the whole blood with a reagent which is composed of 0.01 to 0.5% weight/volume of an alkyl sulphate or sulphonate or of an alkyl-aryl sulphonate wherein the alkyl moiety is C.sub.8 to C.sub.32 and optionally contains one or more hydroxylalkylamino radicals as substituents and/or is interrupted by one or more ether oxygen atoms and the alkyl-aryl radicals having C.sub.8 to C.sub.18 alkyls and optionally a preserving agent.

  • Patent number: 4247630
Abstract: The invention relates to an improvement in a conventional method for the determination of uric acid involving uricase/catalase/aldehyde dehydrogenase, resulting in the formation of produced NAD(P)H as a measure of the initial uric acid present, which improvement comprises adding at least one compound selected from oxalates, malonic acid mono-lower alkyl esters, trihaloethanols, pyrazole, pyridine, substituted pyrazole and pyridine wherein the substituents are selected from lower alkyl and halogen, pyridine carboxylic acids, pyridine carboxylic acids substituted with a lower radical, pyridine carboxylic acid amides and pyridine carboxylic acid lower alkyl esters, thiourea, isobutyramide and chelate-forming complexing agents, in order to suppress disturbance-causing creep reactions in said method. Reagents containing such additive compounds are also provided.
