  • Patent number: 11962953
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for transmitting functional safety statistics within a system. A video source produces a video data stream. A functional safety system driver accumulates functional safety statistics from at least one system and writes the functional safety statistics onto an associated system memory. A display sub-system driver writes a frame of the video data stream to the system memory. The display sub-system driver formats the functional safety statistics as video data and appends the functional safety statistics to a portion of the frame of video that is reserved for the functional safety statistics. A display sub-system transmits the frame of the video data stream to a host processor, which extracts the functional safety statistics from the video frame.

  • Patent number: 11303806
Abstract: A method for displaying a surround view on a single display screen is disclosed. A plurality of image frames for a particular time may be received from a corresponding plurality of cameras. A viewpoint warp map corresponding to a predetermined first virtual viewpoint may be selected, wherein the viewpoint warp map defines a source pixel location in the plurality of image frames for each output pixel location in the display screen. The warp map was predetermined offline and stored for later use. An output image is synthesized for the display screen by selecting pixel data for each pixel of the output image from the plurality of image frames in accordance with the viewpoint warp map. The synthesized image is then displayed on a display screen.

  • Patent number: 8855194
Abstract: A video processor controlled by a set of non-shadow registers is provided. A list of updates for one or more of the non-shadow registers may be prepared in a memory module. A frame buffer is updated with video data for a display coupled to the video processor. A blanking interval is detected after updating the frame buffer. A direct memory access engine is triggered to transfer the list of updates from the memory module to the non-shadow registers during the blanking interval.

  • Publication number: 20130188096
Abstract: This invention allows the application software to submit multiple (N) frames belonging to different and/or same channels in one submission. The driver maintains a request queue and serializes requests and manages the hardware utilization. The driver informs the software through a callback function when the entire submission has been serviced.

  • Publication number: 20130010198
Abstract: A method for capturing video frames from a plurality of video channels is provided. A list of a least two descriptors is formed for each of the plurality of video channels in a memory accessible to a direct memory access (DMA) engine, wherein each of the two or more descriptors for each channel is programmed to define a storage location for a sequential frame of video data for the channel. A sequence of video frames is received from the plurality of video channels, wherein for each channel, video frames are received at a frame rate for that channel. A DMA engine uses descriptors from the list to store video frames as they are received. The list is updated periodically to replace used descriptors.

  • Publication number: 20120274856
Abstract: A driver for operating an electronic device including a program controlled data processor and video processing hardware responsive to requests to perform operations on video frames is provided. A frame list is formed with pointers to a plurality of buffers for a corresponding plurality of video channels. A request is formed by an application program running on the data processor for a first operation on each of the plurality of frames in the first frame list. The request of the application program and the first frame list is submitted to a driver for the video processing hardware for the plurality of channels. A notification is received from the driver when the video processing hardware has completed the operation on less than all of the plurality of frames.
