  • Patent number: 9573452
Abstract: An electric vehicle traction drive assembly includes a variable-speed electric motor for providing the torque. A multi-speed transaxle multiplies the torque of the electric motor through the vehicle operator's selection between more than one gear ratio. An adapter mechanically couples the motor and the transaxle to integrate the motor with the transaxle keeping an output shaft of the motor center-aligned with an input shaft of the transaxle.

  • Publication number: 20130328348
Abstract: Integral solar panel for an electric vehicle to recharge the traction battery pack. An integrally installed electronic solar panel array that is capable of fully recharging an automobile with energy obtained from sunlight or other wavelengths of ambient energy. Such an energy collecting panel is modular and may be removed or replaced with common tools. Further, such a collecting panel is non-glass, shatterproof, and non-glare. Further still, such a solar panel is designed to provide an isolated source of power to directly recharge the main traction storage device, such as a battery or a capacitor.

  • Publication number: 20130139626
Abstract: The invention is an electric vehicle subassembly that has a drive with a front wheel drive multi-speed transmission with independent suspension mounted in the rear of the vehicle. The front wheel drive transmission is not steerable. The invention is also an electric vehicle drive subassembly with a drive having an electric motor, an input shaft of a multi-speed transmission, a driven gear cluster, a differential, and the axles of the vehicle all arranged in parallel. The invention also comprises methods for efficiently manufacturing such electric vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20130140882
Abstract: A Kinetic Energy Recovery System to recharge the traction storage device of an electric vehicle through inertial differentials between a static mass and the lateral motions of a vehicle in motion. A modular machine made of an eccentric mass, which tends to remain motionless, against which the vehicle moves, forming the kinetic energy to turn that eccentric wheel, which in turn drives a series of ratios of shafts to generate electricity. Further, this generated electricity is rectified and regulated to the correct voltage to recharge the storage device on board that electric vehicle.
