  • Publication number: 20070289442
Abstract: In one aspect, a brake pump assembly with a hydraulic block and a pumping element including a polymer piston that is received in a piston bore. A circumference of the polymer piston defines a high-pressure seal slideably engaging adjacent structure. The polymer piston may include a peripheral sealing lip projecting primarily longitudinally from the polymer piston for sealing engagement with the piston bore. In another aspect, a brake pump assembly with a hydraulic block, a straight bore polymer piston, a peripheral sealing lip projecting from a proximal portion of the polymer piston, and a elastomeric seal mounted to a distal portion of the polymer piston, where the peripheral sealing lip selectively acts to depressurize fluid accumulating between the peripheral sealing lip and elastomeric seal.

  • Patent number: 7240392
Abstract: A windshield wiper drive linkage is provided for use in a wiper system. The linkage includes a crank arm connectible to an output shaft of a drive motor. A drive arm is pivotally connected to the crank arm for movement between first and second angular positions about a pivot pin with respect to one another. A flexible composite spring extends between the crank arm and the drive arm. The flexible composite spring is preloaded into an initial arcuate position and is bendable from the initial position to facilitate preventing damage to components in the wiper system when a load applied to the arms exceeds a predetermined load.

  • Patent number: 5474121
Abstract: A fan motor support, for use in combination with a motor vehicle radiator of the type having a U-shaped channel extending along an upper side of the radiator, having a motor mounting portion, a support structure and a claw portion. The motor mounting portion has a motor opening therethrough. The support structure is configured to extend across a portion of a rear surface of the radiator. The claw portion extends from the support structure and has a first member configured to reside in the U-shaped channel.

  • Patent number: 4509878
Abstract: A mounting for a windshield wiper pivot shaft on a vehicle cowl panel includes a transmission having a housing defining a base surface and a tower projecting from the base surface, a bore through the tower for rotatably supporting the pivot shaft, a rectangular aperture in the cowl panel having a pivot edge, a circular aperture in the cowl panel overlapping the rectangular aperture, a lip on the housing at one end of the base surface, and protuberances on the housing on an imaginary circle having a radius corresponding to but slightly larger than the radius of the circular aperture. The transmission is mounted on the cowl panel by inserting the tower through the overlapped apertures, hooking the lip on the pivot edge, and pivoting the housing toward the cowl panel so that the protuberances engage the circular aperture in interference fit fashion to remove all clearance between the transmission and the cowl panel when the base surface abuts the cowl panel.
