Patent number: 7833299Abstract: A filter element having a frame defining an interior volume and having exterior surfaces. Filter media is mounted within the frame so as to allow fluid to enter an upstream side of the media and exit a downstream side of the media. At least one component of a multi-component filter frame seal, the at least one component being positioned on an outer surface of the frame and substantially circumscribing the filter frame at a location selected to align to a complementary component of the multi-component filter frame seal. The complementary component is provided separately from the filter element.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2005Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Assignee: StrionAir, Inc.Inventors: Bruce Dawson, Thaddeus Ptak, Rex Coppom

Patent number: 6292475Abstract: An access point (10) monitors traffic flows of communication on a first communication channel (20) between nodes (12, 14, 16) of the wireless communication network system. The access point (10) directs a first node (12) and a second node (14) to a second communication channel (22) when the traffic flow between the first node (12) and the second node (14) reaches a first predetermined level. The first node (12) and the second node (14) utilize the second communication channel (22) to convey information between the first node (12) and the second node (14). The first node (12) and the second node (14) monitor traffic flow between the first node (12) and the second node (14) on the second communication channel (22) and return to the first communication channel (20) when the traffic flow between the first node (12) and the second node (14) on the second communication channel (22) falls below a second predetermined level.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 1998Date of Patent: September 18, 2001Assignee: Motorola, Inc.Inventor: Bruce Dawson Swail

Patent number: 5929942Abstract: A computer implemented method for editing a video frame is disclosed. The video frame comprises scan lines of a first video field interlaced with scan lines of a second video field, and the scan lines comprise a plurality of pixels, each having values representing image information. The method comprises displaying the video frame on a display screen of a computer system, the computer system having a processor and input means which are coupled to the display screen, receiving an input from the input means which indicates which of the first and second video fields of the video frame is to be edited and in response to the input, de-emphasizing the scan lines of the video field which is not to be edited.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1997Date of Patent: July 27, 1999Assignee: Avid Technology, Inc.Inventors: Joseph Porrka, Bruce Dawson

Patent number: 4546931Abstract: A plurality of continuous strings which have been formed in a molding machine are wound about vertical axes. The strings are pulled from the molding machine simultaneously by a first tensioning device which maintains the strings under tension. The strings are advanced simultaneously from the first tensioning mechanism by a first drive means. As the strings are advanced by the first drive means, they are drawn by a plurality of second tensioning mechanisms which maintain the strings under tension. The strings are wound upon respective reels which pull the strings from the second tensioning mechanisms. The reels are capable of rotating independently of one another. After a preselected number of turns of the string have been wound, a reinforcing member is clamped against an upper edge of those turns to prevent the subsequently wound outer turns from excessively radially compressing the inner turns.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 1984Date of Patent: October 15, 1985Assignee: O'Sullivan CorporationInventor: C. Patent number: 4496113Abstract: A continuous string of molded items is formed and advanced toward a winder, the latter being periodically rotated. A tensioner member takes-up slack in the advancing string when the winder is stopped. The biasing force applied to the tensioner is reduced during periods when the winder is rotated, in order to reduce the tendency for the string to be excessively stressed.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1983Date of Patent: January 29, 1985Assignee: O'Sullivan CorporationInventor: C. Patent number: 4445836Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for molding and winding in a continuous operation a string of molded items. The molded items of the string or chain are molded in spaced relationship to one another and are connected by molded scrap connectors. The string of molded items is then advanced until only a trailing connector of the last molded item extends into the mold cavity. Upon subsequent molding operation, therefore, the subsequent molded item is molded integral with the existing string of molded items. The continuous string of molded items is kept under constant tension and wound periodically into a coil. The molding, advancing, tensioning and winding operations are all integrated and synchronized in order to provide a wound package which greatly facilitates its use in an automatic assembly operation.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1981Date of Patent: May 1, 1984Assignee: O'Sullivan CorporationInventor: C. Patent number: 4398307Abstract: A composite hinge for a toilet seat comprises three leaves, namely, a bowl leaf, a seat leaf and a lid leaf. The three leaves are assembled into a unit by snap fitting the individual pieces together in interlocking manner. The assembled hinge is then adapted to be secured to the underside of the lid and to the underside of the seat ring by snap fitting the respective leaves into expandible holes in the seat ring and lid. The seat ring and lid are provided with studs with enlarged frusto-conical heads which are adapted to pass through the expandible holes which, after passage, contract to capture the studs.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1982Date of Patent: August 16, 1983Assignee: Ginsey Industries, Inc.Inventors: Milton Ginsburg, C.
