  • Patent number: 6120420
Abstract: An exercise device having weighted heads is disclosed. The weighted heads are composed of a light shell with a heavy core. The combination of a durable but light shell material with a denser core material results in weighted heads with reduced bulk. The reduced bulk improves the user's control of the device during use, reduces anatomical stress to the users arms and hands, and allows the user to lift a greater amount of weight while maintaining control of the device.

  • Patent number: 5050868
Abstract: An exercising machine for bodybuilders which facilitates the safe and proper performance of various lower body exercises such as squats and lunges. The machine safely facilitates free, natural movements in two planes to promote muscle growth and bone and tendon strength. The machine is ideally suited to use as a rehabilitation device. A rigid steel frame of generally rectangular configuration rests upon a resilient, skid-resistant mat. The frame comprises rigid, spaced apart side rails and parallel cross members. A carriage assembly is slidably disposed upon the rails for movement along the frame. The carriage assembly includes a pair of rigid, parallel arches which extend vertically from roller assemblies associated with the frame rails. The roller assemblies comprise twin-bearing pillow blocks which permit the carriage to roll securely along the rails. A weight bar system extending between carriage sides may be loaded as desired by the bodybuilder.

  • Patent number: 4836535
Abstract: A power body building machine for athletes, gymnasts, body builders and the like for exercising the upper torso, including the chest, the back, and the shoulders. A rigid, upright, free standing frame includes a pair of rigid, spaced apart, sides which dynamically mount a weight bar assembly which extends horizontally therebetween. A user may enter the machine through the frame and grasp the loaded weight bar assembly, which may be stressed with "outboard" free weight bar assembly is slidably coupled to parallel, rigid, guide rods associated with each of the frame sides rods which establish a vertical travel path and it is manipulated by handles which are slidably mounted upon it for horizontal movement, and which are synchronized with each other by a cable assembly. A user can exercise by concurrently performing hand/arm movements and hand/wrist rotation while the stressed weight bar is manipulated. Rotatable sprockets are associated with the top and bottom of the machine frame.

  • Patent number: 4795149
Abstract: An exercising machine for body builders or other athletes which facilitates the practice of squats, lunges, and similar lower body exercises, and encourages proper form as well as safety. A rigid steel frame of generally cubical dimensions, which rests upon a flat surface such as a floor, comprises upper and lower pairs of rigid, spaced apart rails. Vertical stanchions forming corners of the frame interconnect the upper and lower pairs of rails. A carriage assembly slidably disposed within the frame includes a pair of rigid, spaced-apart tracking side members which extend vertically between the upper and lower frame rails. A roller system at the bottom of the tracked side members enable it to roll on the lower rails, and similar wheels are employed at the top of the side members to track along the upper rails.
