  • Publication number: 20230081405
Abstract: A method is provided for making a microcellular shoe stiffener has first and second adhesive layers coextruded on opposite first and second surfaces of a stiffener core. The stiffener core may include a recycled polymeric material. Nitrogen in a supercritical fluid state is introduced into the extruder for the stiffener core to produce a closed cell foam with a gaseous component. The gas reduces the weight and cost of the stiffener without significantly reducing stiffness and resiliency.

  • Publication number: 20210129482
Abstract: A microcellular shoe stiffener has at least one adhesive layer coextruded with and carried on a stiffener core. A liquid, such as liquid nitrogen, is introduced into the extruder for the stiffener core to produce a closed cell foam with a gaseous component. The gas reduces the weight and cost of the stiffener with out significantly reducing stiffness and resiliency.

  • Publication number: 20150101633
Abstract: A dental hygiene for cleaning tool that is small, inexpensive and lightweight to use by people to care for their teeth and gums. The tool has several components integrated or connected with the body of the tool such as a digger for cleaning between teeth. These components include: a floss piece preferably made of nylon and preferably attached to the tool's interiors; a number of rough textures along edges for cleaning between the teeth of varying thicknesses depending on the spacing between the teeth and a curved pick portion adapted to contour over a person's lip when using the tool; a cleaner also for cleaning between the teeth made of a pointed end to clean between teeth and a thinner material for easier insertion between the teeth.

  • Patent number: 6475619
Abstract: A process of making a fabric based stiffener material having thermal adhesive properties on its top and bottom surfaces which is based on (a) contacting a non-woven fabric with a latex forming resin and a finely divided powder adhesive polymer to form a latex saturated non-woven fabric; and (b) removing the excess latex from the non-woven fabric formed in step (a); and (c) drying the product of step (b).

  • Patent number: 5177242
Abstract: The reaction time and ease of handling of reactants in the known process of forming optically active (S)-cyanohydrins by reacting aldehydes with hydrocyanic acid in the presence of the enzyme S-oxynitrilase and a solvent may be significantly improved over the known methods when the solution of aldehydes and acid is passed through a porous membrane comprising a polymeric resinous binder having finely divided filler particles dispersed throughout the binder to which the S-oxynitrilase enzyme has been chemically bound.
