Bruce Mulholland has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 10023716
Abstract: A shaped part that is formed from a polymer composition that contains a liquid crystalline polymer and a black pigment is provided. By selectively controlling the type and relative concentration of these components, the polymer composition and shaped parts formed therefrom can have a dark black appearance, and yet still exhibit good thermal and mechanical properties at high temperatures.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 21, 2016
Date of Patent: July 17, 2018
    Assignee: Ticona LLC
    Inventor: Bruce Mulholland
  • Patent number: 9745467
Abstract: A polymer composition is disclosed containing a coupling agent and an impact modifier that renders the composition resistant to ultraviolet light degradation. The polymer composition contains an aliphatic coupling agent, an aliphatic impact modifier, or both an aliphatic coupling agent and an aliphatic impact modifier. The polymer composition is well suited to producing molded articles, especially articles that will later be exposed to substantial amounts of ultraviolet light. For example, molded articles made according to the present disclosure are well suited for use on the interior of vehicles where the parts are not only exposed to ultraviolet light, but are also exposed to repeated thermal cycles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 2013
Date of Patent: August 29, 2017
    Assignee: Ticona, LLC
    Inventors: Bruce Mulholland, Ursula Ziegler

  • Patent number: 6258884
Abstract: Polymeric compositions characterized by containing polymeric acetals and zinc-containing inorganic fillers exhibiting improved resistance to the formation and adhesion of mineral deposits when used in applications wherein the composition is exposed to water containing dissolved minerals for extended periods of time. The composition may be prepared into shaped articles which are useful as mineral resistant, plumbing fixtures.
