  • Patent number: 4566894
Abstract: A four axis adjustment mechanism is disclosed for adjusting the orientation of the deflector of the delivery system of a rotating table type of glassware forming machine. The orientation of the deflector is adjustable as it oscillates along a predetermined arcuate path relative to its deflector axis in order to properly position the deflector over a corresponding continuously moving blank mold. These adjustments are termed radial, radial tilt, peripheral and peripheral tilt.

  • Patent number: 4562753
Abstract: A conveyor cam adjusting apparatus permitting adjustment of the radial position of each cam on a drive shaft while it is rotating. A plurality of individual electric motors are mounted for rotation about a common drive shaft each motor being associated with a single cam. Each motor is provided with a means for manually selectively connecting it to a control means in order to enable an operator to rotate the associated cam relative to the common drive shaft while the shaft is rotating. A sensing means may be used to detect the position of each cam relative to a predetermined reference position and the output of the sensing means may be used by a computer control means to automatically selectively activate each motor to adjust the associated cam accordingly.

  • Patent number: 4528017
Abstract: An improved blank cylinder mechanism for a glassware making machine which utilizes shims between the bottom plate and support in conjunction with the cam track to adjust the angular position of the cylinder in down position. Also, the blank cylinder mechanism uses a double tapered slot in the piston rod to provide cushioning.

  • Patent number: 4507138
Abstract: A new delivery system for use with glassware forming machines of the rotating table type having a plurality of continuously rotating spaced forming units spaced about the periphery thereof. The delivery system includes a plurality of gob guiding units each having a scoop, trough and deflector secured to a corresponding oscillating frame. A vertical pivot shaft supports each scoop and is operatively connected with an actuating means to move the corresponding scoop laterally between a delivery position and a reject position. The actuating means is responsive to a plurality of gob reject actuators in order to enable selective delivery or rejection of individual gobs of selected forming units.

  • Patent number: 4505731
Abstract: A drive system for arcuately oscillating the gob guiding units of the delivery system of a rotating table type glassware forming machine. The drive means includes a drive shaft having a crank and associated crank roller at one end, the roller being operatively situated within a crank box on one of the gob guiding units. Rotating of the drive shaft causes oscillatory motion of the gob guiding unit. A connecting link is provided to transfer this motion to other gob guiding units.

  • Patent number: 4469501
Abstract: A timing control system for the gob delivery system of a glassware forming machine of the rotating table type. Gob timing functions provide means to determine the drop times of each gob within a group of gobs. Adjusting means are provided to adjust the drop times of selected gobs to equalize drop times of all gobs within a group of gobs being delivered.

  • Patent number: 4272273
Abstract: A glassware forming machine has a blank mold station at which two parisons are formed in mating blank molds and neck molds, the parisons being formed inverted by upwardly moving plungers entering the lower open ends of the parison cavities. A twin plunger mechanism especially suitable for double gob pressing of parisons has the capability for ready removal and replacement of the plunger mechanism for producing glassware on different mold centers. A floating bottom plate is provided on a vertically adjustable foot structure, and the twin plunger mechanism includes upper and lower housing portions readily secured to the bottom plate by locating studs which position the plunger mechanism in the glassware forming machine frame and in accurately indexed relationship to the centerline of the parison cavities at the blank mold station.
