  • Publication number: 20200020161
Abstract: A computer system presents a virtual object on a display of the computer system which represents an action at a location in space. If a user of the computer system approaches the location, the computer system presents one or more stimuli to encourage movement away from that location. The appearance of the object may vary as the user of the computer system moves. The appearance of the object may include information and may vary with a change of state. Multiple such virtual objects may be used to indicate a path.

  • Publication number: 20200020145
Abstract: A computer system detects an object in a field-of-view (FOV) using at least one sensor coupled to the computer system and determines a shape of the object using a processor of the computer system. An overlay element having the shape and a changeable characteristic is created and a value of a parameter is obtained. A representation of the overlay element is rendered with the changeable characteristic set based on a value of the parameter and presented on a display of the computer system to at least partially occlude the object.

  • Publication number: 20190377538
Abstract: A computer system detects an object in a field-of-view (FOV) using at least one sensor coupled to the computer system and determines a shape of the object using a processor of the computer system. The gaze direction of a user of the computer system is determined using at least one sensor coupled to the system. If the object shape intersecting with the current gaze direction has an associated ambient sound that conveys information about the object, the sound is presented using one or speakers coupled to the computer system.

  • Patent number: 10497161
Abstract: A computer system detects an object in a field-of-view (FOV) using at least one sensor coupled to the computer system and determines a shape of the object using a processor of the computer system. An overlay element having the shape and a changeable characteristic is created and a series of values of a parameter over a period of time is obtained. Multiple representations of the overlay element are rendered with the changeable characteristic changed based on the series of values of the parameter and serially presented on a display of the computer system to at least partially occlude the object.

  • Patent number: 9871926
Abstract: A mobile device can be assigned to an extension configured as a Queue Agent (“QA”) in a call-queuing enabled virtual private branch exchange (vPBX). This and other mobile or fixed devices can be interconnected to form a virtual call center. Each extension can be assigned various rules, which specify how the incoming calls are answered at the extension and how calls in the call queue are selected for answering by the QA. As part of the rules, the vPBX system forwards calls from a call queue to the QA based on QA's availability status. If a location-aware mobile device is associated with the QA, the vPBX system can determine the QA's availability status based on a geographic location of the mobile device. A most geographically proximate agent can be selected for answering the call.

  • Patent number: 9868192
Abstract: A combination is disclosed that includes: a shipping box containing a light fixture globe and base, the base having two mounting apertures, each having a slot contiguous thereto, with the width of the slots being smaller than the mounting apertures; a mounting bracket for mounting the base to a junction box; two screws for attaching the mounting bracket to the junction box; two mounting screws for mounting the base to the mounting bracket, with each mounting screw having a head larger than the width of the slot; and an elongated tool that is made of a flexible material, is hollow at one end, and can frictionally engage a mounting screw's head when the mounting screw is forced head-first into the hollow end to the point only its tip end protrudes from the elongated tool.

  • Patent number: 9782875
Abstract: A method of installing a light fixture base to a surface is disclosed that employs an elongated tool that engages a mounting screw in rough alignment with an axis of the elongated member. The mounting screw and elongated tool are inserted through a mounting hole in the base and moved upward through thermal insulation in the base. The elongated tool is then manipulated while viewing both a tip end of the mounting screw and a threaded hole in a mounting bracket attached to a junction box so as to attach the mounting screw to the mounting bracket. The elongated tool then serves as a guide while sliding the base upward along the elongated tool so as to rapidly attach the base to a mounting screw in the mounting bracket.

  • Patent number: 9736756
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products for utilizing location information in a virtual private branch exchange (vPBX) system are described. In some implementations, the vPBX system can use the location information to determine an availability status of a user of a mobile device (e.g., out of the office, in the office, at home, busy, and the like). The vPBX system can obtain the geographic coordinates of the mobile device and correlate these coordinates with known coordinates for locations associated with the user (e.g., the user's office, home, or other predefined locations). An inference of the user's availability can then be determined based on the correlation (e.g., whether the user is currently out of the user's office, at the user's home, or at another location). The user's availability can be made available to other users associated with the vPBX system, and can be used for call management (e.g., routing).

  • Publication number: 20170203767
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and system for detecting, monitoring and/or controlling one or more of mobile services for a mobile communication device (also referred to herein as a Controllable Mobile Device or CMD), and in particular, when the device is being used and the vehicle, operated by the user of the device, is moving. In addition, one aspect of the invention generally relates to a method and system for modifying a user's driving behaviors, in particular to a system and method for modifying a user's unsafe driving behaviors, e.g., using one or more services of a controllable mobile device while driving, by providing a score to the user rating indicating that they are using a mobile device in a distracting way, or driving in a manner that indicates that they are distracted.

  • Publication number: 20170173881
Abstract: A method includes: providing a three-dimensional printer including a build surface and a carrier that is movable away from and toward the build surface; advancing the carrier toward the build surface and contacting a lower surface of the carrier with the build surface or a fixture or frame member adjacent the build surface to align the carrier in an aligned position with the lower surface of the carrier parallel to the build surface; and locking the carrier in a locked state to maintain the carrier in the aligned position.
