  • Patent number: 7222367
Abstract: The use of licenses is monitored in a computer or communication system which has a plurality of terminals and in which at least one license is associated with at least one user. The use of the license or licenses by each user is recorded during a defined period after the license starts to run. Based on the recording result, a message is generated and sent to the user's terminal at least if the scope of use falls short of a predeterminable value.

  • Publication number: 20070016703
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for playing back a media file in a playback unit, comprising the retrieval of the executable instructions contained in the media file by the playback unit, the execution of the instructions for decoding and/or decompressing a media data flow that is stored in the media file in a coded or compressed manner by an execution device of the playback unit and playback of the media data flow by means of the instructions executed in the execution device. The invention also relates to a method for generating a media file, comprising coding an/or compressing a media data flow with the aid of a processing algorithm, definition of a processing algorithm that is complementary to the processing algorithm as instructions that are executed by the playback unit and assembling the media file with a first area for receiving the coded and/or compressed media data flow and at least a second area for receiving the executable instructions.

  • Publication number: 20060190727
Abstract: In the English translation document, please add the paragraph at page 11 line 1, after the newly added ABSTRACT section heading, as follows: In order to operate a communication terminal for packet-oriented data transmission, at least one piece of status information is stored, for a communication terminal, in a memory unit associated with the communication terminal. Said status information is provided with a digital signature that is calculated from the status information by means of a private key for an asymmetrical encoding method associated with a first control unit associated with the communication terminal, for the resolution and/or conversion of network addresses. If the first control unit fails, a request is transmitted comprising the status information and the digital signature to associate the communication terminal with at least one second control unit, and the digital signature is checked. In the event of a positive check result, the communication terminal is associated with the second control unit.

  • Publication number: 20060098684
Abstract: The invention relates to a data communications method, a data communications system, and to a computer for use in a data communications system, whereby the data communications system has several clients. The computer contains a telephone conference and/or video conference data processing device, which supports a first data transmission protocol, and contains another data processing device that supports both the first as well as the second protocol, whereby the second protocol is also supported by clients. The data communications system permits a uniform resource management independent of the type and location of the connected resources and permits a uniform system control interface for monitoring both the H.323 standard as well as TDM/PCM-based proprietary resources.

  • Publication number: 20050259635
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, whereby the decision as to whether a protocol conversion is required or not is made according to a target datum contained in a signaling message, it is decided whether. The generation of a signaling message according to another signaling protocol is only then carried out if it is absolutely necessary. Said measures enable data losses to be limited as a result of the protocol conversion. Furthermore, for example, the load on the protocol conversion unit is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050207397
Abstract: For alternate operation of a terminal (EG1) at at least two communication nodes (GK1, GK2), the terminal (EG1) is first registered with a first of the communication nodes (GK1). In this case, registration is followed by there being a logical connection between the terminal (EG1) and the first communication node (GK1). The obtainability of the first communication node (GK1) is monitored, and in the event of the first communication node (GK1) being unobtainable a status information item relating to the unobtainability is produced, and the status information item is taken as a basis for setting up a logical connection between the terminal (EG1) and the second communication node (GK2). The terminal (EG1) is then automatically operated at the second communication node (GK2).

  • Publication number: 20050021610
Abstract: Method and arrangement for accessing a first terminal in a first communication network from a second communication node in a second communication network. To access a first terminal (EG1) in a first communication network (N1) from a second communication node (K2) in a second communication network (N2), the first and second communication networks (N1 and N2) are connected to one another for the purpose of interchanging control data using a proxy server (PRX). The first terminal (EG1) is registered with the second communication node (N2) by the proxy server (PRX) like a terminal at the second communication node (K2), which means that the second communication node (K2) manages the first terminal (EG1) as a terminal at the second communication node (K2).

  • Publication number: 20040170180
Abstract: At least one switching instance is provided in a VoIP system in order to set up a useful data link between a calling terminal and a called terminal. A first signaling link is set up between each terminal and the at least one switching instance for interchanging information on the basis of a first protocol, a second signaling link is set up between them for interchanging information on the basis of a standardization second protocol, in which the useful data link is set up on the basis of the information interchanged on the basis of the second protocol. At least the second signaling link is initiated by the calling terminal, with the information which is transmitted via the first signaling link and in parallel via the second signaling link from the terminals being in each case combined.

  • Publication number: 20030108064
Abstract: At least two communication systems are controlled or monitored by at least one application by transmitting data from an application to a communication system or conversely from a communication system to an application. An interposed shared service receives and processes the data in each case and subsequently forwards the data. The service sends the data to the communication systems in the same data format in each case and receives the data from the communication systems. When at least one of the communication systems uses a different data format, at least one conversion unit is connected between the communication system and the service for adapting the data formats. With this arrangement it is unnecessary to preset the application to the particular data format used by the communication system to transmit control and status information.

  • Publication number: 20030060231
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a communications system comprising at least one communications installation and at least one terminal which is connected to the communications installation. Following a user-input request for text and/or graphics information that is formatted according to a protocol for wireless transmission of text and/or graphics information (TGI), the terminal (TE1, TE2, TE3) determines address information (AI) using a selection input (SI) describing the requested text and/or graphics information (TGI) and transmits said address information to a control unit (CTL) that is allocated to the communications installation (PBX). Said control unit (CTL) establishes a connection for a packet-oriented data transmission to a server (WAP-SRV) that is described by the address information (AI) and sends a request (RQ) to transmit the text and/or graphics information (TGI) that is described by the selection input (SI) to the server (WAP-SRV).

  • Publication number: 20020082030
Abstract: A telecommunication device, and associated method, for forwarding messages intended for forwarded-to subscribers, including a database which contains subscriber-related information relating to a number of forwarded-to subscribers and terminals associated with these and message formats compatible with these terminals, and a control device. On reception of a message for a forwarded-to subscriber, the control device selects via the subscriber-related information one or more terminals via which the forwarded-to subscriber can be reached, and message formats which are compatible with these terminals, converts the message with the aid of conversion modules and forwards it to the respective corresponding telecommunication network interface for transmission to the selected terminals.
