  • Patent number: 11298851
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool head for a woodworking machine, having a cylindrical, conical or profiled main part, which has at least two tool-receiving portions evenly distributed across its circumference for holding the cutting insert. The tool-receiving portions each have grooves tapering in the radial direction, in which one cutting insert per groove is clamped between a first side wall of the groove and a closing element. A first interlocking connection is provided between the cutting insert and the first side wall. In addition, a centrifugal wedge is arranged between the closing element and a second side wall situated opposite the first side wall of the groove. According to the invention, a second interlocking connection is provided between the closing element and the centrifugal wedge. This permits radial insertion of a cutting insert.

  • Patent number: 11045971
Abstract: A cutter head for a woodworking machine, having a cylindrical, conical, or profiled base body which comprises at least two tool holders for holding a cutting insert. The tool holders each comprise a groove which is open in the radial direction, in which a cutting insert is clamped between a first groove wall of the groove and a one- or two-piece clamping element. The cutter head of can include a support plate arranged between the cutting insert and the first groove wall. The clamping screws are arranged at right angles to the axis and are thus accessible for a cutter change. The screw holder on the clamping element is a ball socket, and the front end of the screw is a round head. The cutter head of has a spring element, which positions the cutting insert during the clamping process, and presses the same via the functional surface radially outward against a stop.

  • Patent number: 5558142
Abstract: To provide a reliable, yet resilient, seat for a cutter blade or knife (13) in a rotary milling body (11), the milling body is formed with a bore (21) which intersects the inner wall (19) of a recess (12) in the circumference of the milling body (11). A roll pin is inserted in the bore, retained therein, but projecting over the plane of the wall surface (19). The knife (13) is formed with a longitudinal groove (27), having opposite flat angled side walls (60), which fit around the projecting surface of the roll pin. A holding element (15), fitted into the recess, bears against knife and resiliently clamps it against the roll pin. Preferably, the holding element (15) and the knife (13) are formed with an interengaging projection (41) and recess (42) arrangement.
