The nozzle inhibits insects that have entered the canister from exiting through the passageway. The lid selectively seals the passageway when the lid is positioned in the closed position.

The dispenser includes a blister and a gas-impermeable membrane layer removably coupled to the blister for covering a volume for containing a scent-releasing material, the gas-impermeable membrane layer configured to substantially seal the scent-releasing material from ambient air when in a sealed position. The gas-impermeable membrane layer includes a tab portion extending at least partially outside of the housing, the tab portion configured to prompt removal of the gas-impermeable membrane layer from the sealed position to an unsealed position in which the scent-releasing material is exposed to ambient air.
