Abstract: A suspension package for sensitive articles includes an article-enclosing flexible bag and an outer enclosing clamshell container having shell halves with abutting edge portions which trap the bag edges therebetween upon closure. A closure mechanism allows the bag and article to be initially supported on one shell half and, upon shell closure, to impart tension to the bag and to hold the shells tightly closed. The clamshell and bag are made of plastic materials, either or both of which may be static dissipative.
