  • Patent number: 11175234
Abstract: A gas detector tubes reader can read and interpret a length of stain as an estimated gas detector tube reader. The gas detector tube reader may then compare the estimated concentration of target gas, the margin of error for the estimated concentration of target gas, and alarm limits for the target gas to determine whether and alarm should be initiated.

  • Patent number: 10379055
Abstract: Gas detector tube templates are described. Gas detector tubes may be used to determine the concentration of target gases in a sampled gas either visually or electronically. Gas detector tubes for visual reading have the length-of-stain demarcations printed or etched on the transparent tube. However, the demarcations may interfere with electronic reading of gas detector tubes. Embodiments of a gas detector tube template may be used to accurately and reliably read gas detector tubes that do not have concentration demarcations printed on the tube in the working area adjacent to the chemical reagent. The gas detector tube template may have a gas detector tube holder capable of reversibly receiving a gas detector tube and two scale card holders. The gas detector tube template could have a left and right scale holder hingedly connected to the gas detector tube holder. The gas detector tube template may be used with scale cards capable of being, reversibly received in the scale rockets.

  • Patent number: 10359341
Abstract: Sampling devices are used to obtain samples of fluids to be analyzed and to determine the composition of the fluid in the sampled environment. A sampling apparatus with an inflatable sample bag used to collect and store liquid, air, vapor, and or gas samples by drawing the sample into the bag through an inlet, a sorbent tube, cassette, and/or other collection media is described. The means for extracting the sample and moving it into the sample bag comprises means for expanding the volume of a sample bag and creating a vacuum or reduced pressure within the sample bag. The means for expanding the include separating walls of a sample bag by use of gravity, pneumatic pressure, a biasing force, hydraulic force, for example or increasing the volume of a sample bag retaining container by such forces. Such sampling apparatuses do not require use of a sampling pump.

  • Patent number: 9989444
Abstract: Sampling systems provide apparatuses for obtaining and assessing the composition of a fluid, typically air. Sampling systems allow industrial hygienists to assess the risks and determine the protective equipment that should be worn by personnel entering a specific environment. In one embodiment, a sampling system comprises a sampling container that draws air into its inner volume and the sampling periods are controlled by an automatic timer valve. The automatic timer valve may comprise a rotating disk or plate that provides fluid communication from the area to be sampled to the inner volume of the sample bag when apertures are aligned with inlet tube.

  • Publication number: 20170326311
Abstract: Fit testing is conduct to ensure that gas mask provide proper protection to workers that may be exposed to airborne contamination. Standard fit test procedures require the mixing of fit test compounds to specific fit testing composition required for threshold testing and subsequent fit testing. A device is needed for easy mixing of the components of the fit test composition and easy delivery of fit test composition during a fit test. For example, a device for fit testing of a gas mask on an individual wearer may include a sprayer, at least one ampoule containing a fit testing component, and a reservoir containing the ampoule and a solvent for the fit test component. The reservoir may be hollow body having a sealed inner volume. The reservoir may be deformable to break at least one hermetically sealed ampoule without tearing or otherwise breaking the reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20170173371
Abstract: Conventional gas mask seals or gaskets are merely rubber flaps integral to and extending from the main body or shell of a gas mask that are conformed to the face of a wearer by tightening straps. The described gas masks comprise a separate gas mask seal and a gas mask shell. Some of the gas mask seals are individualized or customized to more tightly fit and conform to the face of the individual wearer and to provide greater comfort and protection. The gas mask seals may be made from three-dimensional image files developed directly from the wearer's facial features.

  • Patent number: 9322746
Abstract: Sample bags having at least one multilayer wall are described. The multilayer wall may include an inner layer and a sealing layer. The sealing layer is outside of the inner layer and forms a seam around at least a portion of the sample bag. In certain embodiments, the inner layer comprises a patterned periphery. The patterned periphery extends into the seam to provide the inner layer with a mechanical stability. The inner layer may be a thin metal foil or a plastic film and the sealing layer may include a sealing surface of a thermoplastic, wherein the thermoplastic of each sealing layer may be fused to form a seal around the periphery of the sampling bag. The sample bag thereby an inner layer with a low permeable, low adsorption layer coupled with a second layer providing an effective seal results in a sample bag with improved sample gas stability.

  • Patent number: 9044626
Abstract: Gas masks and canisters for gas masks have a chemical sorbent that protects the respiratory system of the wearer from gaseous compounds. The remaining service indication systems for respiratory protections systems provide a warning to the wearer that the capacity of the chemical sorbent to adsorb or absorb further compounds is nearly depleted. A remaining service life indication system has a computer memory device for storing information concerning the canister for determining an end of the service life of a gas mask, a canister and/or a cartridge and such devices from the input of various sensors.
