  • Publication number: 20070224169
Abstract: A gel-like material is provided, the gel-like material having an on-demand state-change capability, whether the on-demand change is to an initial state, a final state or both, at least some of the gel present or delivered undergoing the change. Alternatively, the gel-like material may have a spatially and/or temporally selective state-change, whether on-demand change is to an initial state, a final state or both, at least some of the gel present or delivered undergoing the change. Or, the gel-like material may selectively change state due to gel contacting diseased tissue having a natural thermal or compositional contrast or artificially induced thermal or compositional contrast capable of causing state-change via a state-change parameter, independent of an on-demand nature or a spatial/temporal selective nature.

  • Publication number: 20070125677
Abstract: The invention features a thermal and/or light-protective container assembly that includes a flexible outer and inner layer, as well as a thermoregulatory material disposed between said outer and inner layers. In general, the invention is directed to a thermal and/or light-protective container assembly, such as a form-fitting sleeve, that includes a flexible layered wall having an opened end and a contiguous closed end, wherein the wall defines a centrally located cavity. The wall further includes an outer layer and an inner layer, wherein uniformly disposed between the outer and inner layers is a thermoregulatory material that is configured for insulating an object, and/or for transferring heat or cold to the object, and/or maintaining the temperature of the object disposed within the defined cavity of the sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20070028941
Abstract: The invention features a dental hygiene article that includes a retractable portion and a chamber portion for use in conjunction with the same, as well as methods of use to promote good oral hygiene practices. In general, the invention is directed to a dental hygiene article, such as a toothbrush, wherein the device includes a retractable proximal portion that contains one or both of a head assembly and a stem portion, a chamber portion that is configured for receiving the retractable proximal portion, and a handle portion, which may be detachable. Accordingly, when the retractable portion is in a retracted configuration the head assembly is encased within the chamber, which may then be filled with an additive, such as a fluid medicament, disinfectant, cleaning solution, or the like, so as to treat the head assembly prior to use.
