  • Patent number: 7860700
Abstract: The exemplary embodiments provide a computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for calculating the expected behavior of a group of hardware verification test cases. Batch simulation parameters are configured. A test case is submitted for evaluation. Historical performance data for test cases associated with the submitted test case is gathered. A set of performance statistics for the submitted test case is generated based on the historical performance data and the configured batch simulation parameters. A set of values for the submitted test is generated based on the generated performance statistics for the submitted test case and the historical performance data. The generated set of values and the generated set of performance statistics for the submitted test case are displayed to a user.

  • Patent number: 7774724
Abstract: In a method of data processing, a database defines a Dial entity and at least one instance of the Dial entity. Each instance of the Dial entity has an input having a plurality of different possible input values and one or more outputs, and each of the plurality of different possible input values has a different associated output value set for the one or more outputs. Each instance of the Dial entity determines a value of at least one of a plurality of configuration latches in a digital system separate from the database. The database also associates with the Dial entity at least one set of biasing weights that, when applied, determines a probability of each instance of the Dial entity having particular ones of the plurality of different possible input values.

  • Patent number: 6223142
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed that utilize the expressiveness of hardware description languages for incrementally compiling instrumentation logic into a simulation model of a digital circuit design. According to the present invention, a simulation model that includes a design entity file of a digital circuit design is generated. Next, an instrumentation entity file is associated with the design entity file, thereby producing an instrumented design entity file. Finally, and during the process of compiling the simulation model, for the instrumented design entity file: searching for a consistent and previously compiled version of said instrumented design entity file. In response to finding a consistent and previously compiled version, loading the consistent and previously compiled version into the simulation model. In response to finding no consistent and previously compiled version, loading and compiling the instrumented design entity file.
