Abstract: An alert sleeve is configured to be arranged on a wristband for a person's wrist. The wristband includes a first end and a second end configured to be coupled to the first end to complete the wristband around the person's wrist. The alert sleeve includes a sleeve portion including an outer surface and an inner surface. The alert sleeve includes a passage defined through the sleeve portion, such that the inner surface is in facing relationship with the passage. The alert sleeve includes an identification characteristic on the sleeve portion. The alert sleeve is configured to be arranged on the wristband by moving the first end of the wristband through the passage of the alert sleeve and subsequently coupling the second end to the first end.

Abstract: A wristband assembly comprising a strip of material having two ends, a closure hole adjacent one end, and a nephroid-shaped hole spaced from the closure hole, and a snap closure including a securing portion positioned through both the closure hole and the nephroid-shaped hole to hold the strip of material in a loop. In one embodiment, there are a plurality of nephroid-shaped holes, and each nephroid-shaped holed defines a major axis that is substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the strip of material. Preferably, the nephroid-shaped hole comprises a first lobe adjacent a first side edge of the strip of material and a second lobe adjacent a second side edge of the strip of material. In this embodiment, the snap closure further includes a hinge adjacent the first side edge, and the securing portion is positioned in the first lobe of the nephroid-shaped hole.

Abstract: The present invention provides a wristband assembly comprising a strap adapted to be formed into a loop; a translucent (e.g., transparent) cover member having a fixed portion secured (e.g., permanently adhered) to the strap and a free end unsecured to the strap, and a release member (e.g., a silicone-coated material) positioned over an inner surface of the cover member between the fixed portion and the free end. A portion of the release member is temporarily secured to the strap at a retention location spaced from the free end (e.g., by a distance of at least 1 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm, or 15 mm). In one embodiment, the assembly further includes a retention adhesive at the retention location. Preferably, the retention adhesive is permanently secured to the release member and temporarily adhered to the strap.
