Patent number: 11938394Abstract: The present disclosure relates to splitboard joining devices. The splitboard joining devices can quickly and easily join the skis of a splitboard to create a snowboard. The devices can clamp the splitboard skis in a direction perpendicular and parallel to the seam of the splitboard and normal to the top surface of the splitboard skis. This can prevent the splitboard skis from moving up and down relative to each other, moving apart in a direction perpendicular to the seam, sliding relative to each other in a direction parallel to the seam, and rotating about the seam. The splitboard joining devices can constrain rotation and movement about the seam of the splitboard to make a splitboard ride like a normal snowboard and enhance a rider's experience on a splitboard.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2022Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Inventors: Bryce M. Kloster, Tyler G. Kloster

Publication number: 20210402282Abstract: The present disclosure relates to splitboard bindings. The splitboard bindings can be used to change a splitboard between a snowboard for riding downhill in a ride mode and touring skis for climbing up a hill in a tour mode. The bindings can have a first interface and a second interface configured to engage and disengage. The interfaces can be configured such that a binding has large clearances for easy transitions. The first interface can be configured with a locking mechanism. The second interface can be configured to remove large clearances between the first interface and second interface, when the locking mechanism of the first interface is engaged with the second interface, allowing the first interface to attach tightly to the second interface and splitboard to improve the ride of the splitboard.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2021Publication date: December 30, 2021Inventors: Bryce M. Kloster, Tyler G. Kloster

Patent number: 10279239Abstract: Some embodiments disclosed herein provide systems, methods, and apparatus relating to a touring snowboard binding comprising an adjustable lateral leverage device. In some embodiments, the adjustable lateral leverage device may comprise at least one first attachment generally at a top corner of a highback of a touring snowboard boot and at least one second attachment generally at an ankle portion of the binding. The adjustable tensioning element may extend generally diagonally between the at least one first attachment and the at least one second attachment such that when the tension in the adjustable lateral leverage device is increased the lateral support to the boot is increased proportionally and when the tension in the adjustable lateral leverage device is decreased the lateral support to the boot is decreased proportionally. Some embodiments also provide a touring snowboard boot comprising an adjustable leverage device.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2016Date of Patent: May 7, 2019Inventors: Tyler G. Kloster, Bryce M.
