  • Patent number: 11583991
Abstract: A brushless DC motor includes a stator, a rotor, and motor terminals mounted on the stator. Each motor terminal includes a planar portion extending circumferentially from the end insulator, a wire-receiving member extending from a first end of the planar portion and folded over an outer surface of the planar portion away from the center axis of the stator at an angle of less than 90 degrees, and a tab portion extending from a second end of the planar portion parallel to the center axis of the stator. A circuit board is disposed adjacent the motor including power switches mounted thereon for energizing the stator windings. Slots are formed in the circuit board to align with and securely receive the tab portions of the motor terminals, thus electrically connecting the motor terminals to the power switches.

  • Patent number: 10819298
Abstract: A method and system is presented for coordinating the transmission of supplemental digital data to accompany broadcast data, and in particular, analog radio broadcasts, among a plurality of broadcasters. The supplemental digital data may provide information about the particular broadcast data being transmitted (i.e. cut data) or may be supplemental to such data (i.e. news, weather and traffic data). The supplemental digital data to be presented is sorted based on particular algorithms which may take into account broadcaster-specified criteria such as target audience, time of day, type of broadcast data presented, and the like. The supplemental digital data may be audio data, visual data, or audio-visual data for presentation with the broadcast data. The supplemental digital data may further be advertisement data. The advertisement data may be sold by the broadcasters or the party coordinating the IBOC transmission of the supplemental digital data.

  • Patent number: 10786894
Abstract: A power tool is provided including a tool housing and a brushless DC (BLDC) motor disposed within the tool housing. The motor includes a stator assembly and a rotor assembly having a rotor lamination stack mounted on a rotor shaft to rotate therewith. The power tool also includes a power module for driving the motor, which includes: a printed circuit board, power switches operatively connected to the motor disposed on a first surface of the printed circuit board, positional sensors disposed on a second surface of the printed circuit board around a periphery of a center portion of the printed circuit board, and a heat sink having a substantially planar surface facing the second surface of the printed circuit board and disposed between the motor and the printed circuit board. The heat sink includes a through-hole therein sized to axially expose the positional sensors in the direction of the motor.

  • Patent number: 10735178
Abstract: A method and system for the transmission of digital data (210) over existing analog radio frequencies (230) is presented, wherein the digital data may include audio data, visual data or audio-visual data for presentation either with analog broadcast data or at a selectable time. The digital data may be transmitted over a plurality of sub-channels that have varying degrees or reliability (250). A “quality-of-service” process manages the transmission of digital data over various sub-channels based on the reliability of the sub-channel, the amount of digital data and the type of digital data to be transmitted. The digital data may further be encrypted and authenticated.
