  • Patent number: 11478194
Abstract: Described herein are variations of an analyte monitoring system, including an analyte monitoring device. For example, an analyte monitoring device may include an implantable microneedle array for use in measuring one or more analytes (e.g., glucose), such as in a continuous manner. The microneedle array may include, for example, at least one microneedle including a tapered distal portion having an insulated distal apex, and an electrode on a surface of the tapered distal portion located proximal to the insulated distal apex. At least some of the microneedles may be electrically isolated such that one or more electrodes is individually addressable.

  • Publication number: 20220263510
Abstract: A system comprising (1) a microelectrode array (MEA) component comprising an integrated multiplexed (MUX) logic circuit; and (2) a microprocessor, e.g., MOSFET, such as a CMOS, wherein the MEA is in electrical communication with the microprocessor such that signals produced by the microelectrodes are transmitted to the processor through the MUX. The use of a MUX reduces the number of outputs used to communicate signals from multiple microelectrodes to the microprocessor. The two components are removably engageable with each other such that after one or more uses, the engaged MEA can be removed and replaced with a new MEA, without the necessity of disposing the microprocessor.

  • Publication number: 20210393201
Abstract: A device and method for the insertion of an analyte-selective microneedle array sensor into a dermal stratum of a user is disclosed herein. The device comprises a body portion, a recessed actuation portion, a carrier, a gating feature, and a disengagement feature. A user-directed application of a specified force to the actuation area causes the carrier to overcome the gating feature, thereby to effect the acceleration of the microneedle array sensor device towards the skin surface of a user with a specified impact force and velocity.
