    Abstract: A memory card is presented. The memory card includes a storage medium for storing data. The memory card also includes a processor electronically coupled to the storage medium. The processor is configured to receive a data stream from a digital imaging device, and analyze the data stream to detect a pre-determined signal from the digital imaging device. When the pre-determined signal is detected in the data stream, the processor is configured to retrieve digital image data from the data stream, encrypt the digital image data, and store the encrypted digital image data on the storage medium.
