  • Patent number: 6742467
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for controlling feed quantity and direction in a sewing machine, in which feed quantity and direction of a workpiece is controlled by a motor, thereby not only allowing various patterns to be produced by stitches made up of upper and lower threads, but also allowing a speedy sewing operation. The apparatus comprises an operator interface means for inputting the feed quantity and direction of a workpiece according to an operator's plan, a motor driving control means for outputting a motor driving control signal according to feed information on the feed quantity and direction of the workpiece inputted through the operator interface means, and a workpiece feed control means for controlling rotation direction and speed of the motor according to the motor driving control signal from the motor driving control means.

  • Patent number: 6718893
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus for controlling a position of an embroidery frame, which is capable of performing an accurate embroidering operation by feed backing a position error due to mutual operations of interlocking devices for driving the embroidery frame using a displacement sensor for sensing a displacement of the embroidery frame, and a method thereof. The apparatus comprises an X-axis driver, a Y-axis driver, a sensor and a controller. The X-axis driver moves the embroidery frame along an X-axis direction. The Y-axis driver moves the embroidery frame along a Y-axis direction. The sensor senses a displacement of the embroidery frame to the X-axis and Y-axis directions, and outputs electric signals corresponding to the sensed displacement. The controller generates X-axis and Y-axis drive control signals based on the electric signal from the sensor in order to control the X-axis and Y-axis drivers, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20030172860
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for driving a shuttle of an embroidery machine. The apparatus comprises: a rotation shaft of the shuttle; a lower shaft which transfers a driving power to the rotation shaft, so as to rotate the shuttle; a first magnet provided at the rotation shaft; and a second magnet provided at the lower shaft and corresponding to the first magnet. The first magnet has a hollow cylindrical shape so that the rotation shaft can be inserted through the first magnet while firmly holding the first magnet. The second magnet has a hollow cylindrical shape so that the lower shaft can be inserted through the second magnet while firmly holding the second magnet.
